BBQ Ride - Aug 9 - Rub in B'more - August 4, 2009, 06:21 PM

http://www.rubbbqbaltimore.com/

Going to leave the Tyson's area and head up to Rub BBQ in Baltimore. I'm hoping to find a nice back roads route, so there is no slabbing, however if I can't find a suitable one, going to slab it, as the goal is to eat the BBQ.

If anyone is down for riding with me, let me know. probably going to do a late lunch or early dinner.

Nah, probably take some other route, through clarksville and ellicott city.

Slabbing is an option, but i would rather draw the ride out by taking some back roads and seeing some of MD country area for a couple of hours, than slabbing an hour straight into the city.

Just got a note that models and throttles will be doing something that day too, so may hit that up later since we will be in b'more anyhow.

event appears to be happening at the powerplant. depending on who is going, we can decide whats up.

if you can, try to hit the roads near New Freedom, PA. A few weeks ago i went from frederick, md to New Freedom, then down to baltimore, and found some of the best, tightest roads around there. slabbing is inevitable though.

Yeah, I'll check that out. I figure a little slabbing isn't bad, but just don't want to do direct slab.

So you in? I know this isn't Nanny's, but I can't do an overnight trip this weekend, so I figured I would do something a little more local.

that bbq place looks pretty good. but i may end up catching up on work all weekend. it all depends on how this week goes, and how much work i can get done.

if i miss it, i hope you post up a review of the place and some pics.

I was looking at heading up to silver spring, then cutting across olney and into clarksville (via brighton dam rd) and then riding through ellicot city and eventually getting on 40 or something close to that and riding the remainder in.

not sure yet if i want to do models and throttles yet, depends if there are any takers.

so if you guys have any good roads along that route, let me know, I'll add them in. The route i was looking at is over 2 hours, so i'm still thinking about hitting a late lunch around 130 or so.

i've smelled this bbq from Rub before (long story), and it smelled awesome, haha, so i will definitely post up a review and some pics.
