Talking BBQ Ride - Nanny's Petersburg, VA - Aug 1 - July 27, 2009, 02:12 PM

So NovaSquid and I were talking about doing a ride down to www.nannysbbq.com in Petersburg, VA, to enjoy some all you can eat BBQ. Place opens at 4pm, so we are planning on leaving sometime around lunch and riding backroads down. Then filling ourselves full of good ole bbq.

This ride is over a year overdue, haha.

Since dusk will be not to long after the feast (and we don't want to slab it back), we are thinking about hitting up a hotel in the area and heading back Sunday morning, again on backroads.

However, it won't be just eating and then going to a hotel. I don't have all the info now, but we will do something around the Tri-Cities area (Hopewell, Petersburg, Colonial Heights) or maybe even head up to Richmond or Chester (haha, there is a hooters in Chester, conveniently connected to a hotel).

Anyway, looking to see who would be interested in joining us. I believe that NovaSquid and I will definitely be doing this ride no matter what. So if you want to head down, post up. There will be a good 3+ hours of riding each day, maybe more on Saturday, depending on the activities.

Depending on the group who is down, the after feast fun may vary, and I'll update this thread with new info as it is determined.

Still checking for after feast activities. May hang out in Shokoe Bottom, Richmond, or hit up some other local spots.

Will also probably do some rides after the feast, since there are plenty of backroads in the area.

Anyway, if you are into heading down, let me know, so that we can figure out the hotel arrangements.

looks like we are going to do two bbq places for this trip, one on the way back.

We are looking at about 350 miles of riding each day. So it should be good times.

If you are interested in doing a BBQ run that is closer to town (like bmore or something), post up, so we can see if we should do another ride...

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the Nanny's ride will be delayed. we are hoping to head down there on the 8th of August.

From my understanding, NovaSquid is still rolling down to neds in Richmond, and doing a day trip, so if you were interested in this weekend, you may want to hit him up.
