Bike Week Daytona 200 Who's Going? - March 3, 2011, 01:51 PM

Who all is going to bike week this year at Daytona?

I'm leaving March 9th and will be staying there till the morning of the 13th.

Where is everyone staying?

Also going to pickup tickets for the 200 race but not sure where the best seats are to watch the race. Would love to get pit passes but not sure if they sell them.

Can't wait for this!

I just spoke with ticket sales and they said that the GA tickets will also let you into the paddock area.

Now just to figure out what section we will watch the race from.

GA is awesome.

Just walk around while the race is on.
Cool to see different vantage points.

I usually hit the pits before and after the races.

Dont wish to sound negative but do not spend a lot on on a special seat. Get in and move around a lot. You will walk your legs off but it can be worth it. I was sad to see how empty the pits were last year. I remember when you could barely move around for all the riders and crews. Now it looks like a lightly attended club race with a few big fancy trucks. However, that said, DO NOT MISS THE SHORT TRACK NATIONALS.

The best views close up are the stands by the international horseshoe on the infield. Or along the old dogleg section if you have an RV to stand on. Sitting up in the typical stands would kinda suck in my opinion.

If you *really* want to see as much as possible. Bring a scooter to get around the infield.

Try staying across the street from the track. There was a decent enough hotel with a restaurant in it. (TGI Friday or something similar) Made racing easy. Get up, cross street, race all day, cross street, shower eat, pass out, repeat as needed.

I want my baby back, baby back, baby back....Chileeeeee's bay back...
