Calling All Sport bikes!!!

Run for the son

May 2, 2009

Annual Fundraiser Event

Every year, the Christian Motorcyclists Association comes together to raise money for “Run for the Son” - A national fundraiser that financially supports spreading the gospel to the outermost places of the world. Those participating in this event raise money by seeking sponsors for a 100-mile motorcycle ride.
This year’s Maryland FastLane 100-mile ride will depart at 8:30am from 1313 Londontown Blvd. (Starbucks) in Sykesville, MD 21784 and finish at 1349 Stevens ave. (Arbutus Town Hall) in Arbutus, MD 21227. Lunch will be served after the ride for $30 (must RSVP) and will consist of Pit Beef, Pit Turkey, Pork BBQ, Steamed Shrimp, Assorted Hot Sides and Homemade Salads, Beverages and a Free Coupon for Ice Cream Cottage located at the event.
All proceeds from the luncheon go directly to “Run for the Son”.

Contact Jerry at 443-223-5809 to RSVP - NO tickets sold at the door!

Ok I have merged all three of these threads into one and moved into the Rides and events section, as well as deleting all the whoring.

From this point forward lets keep it to the topic at hand

FOREVER #47 "Walking In The Echo...."

Ok so is this a charity run or is the money just going straight to this church? Inquiring minds would like to know.

As found on Christian Motorcycle Assoc website....

http://www.cmausa.org/run-for-the-son/

"Run for the Son" Breakdown of Funds:
40% Home Missions
20% Open Doors
20% Missionary Ventures
20% Jesus film

The ride is a fundraiser that seeks donations for various aspects of the CMA.

If you'd like more info, here's a link to the Run for the Son brochure. http://www.cmausa.org/run-for-the-so...20Brochure.pdf

For clarification, I am not a member of the CMA, nor am I participating in the ride. I know Terry (Elephant Man) personally and he doesn't get on here all that often, so I don't know how quick you'd get a response.

As I suspected, no charitable contributions.

EDIT: before anyone jumps down my throat, yes I know it says Fundraiser, not charity ride.

If you would take a moment to read about the event, you would be able to see that absolutely nowhere does the word "charity" get mentioned. You and CEaton are the only ones who've used that word.

Take a moment to read my post, I know it never said "charity" I was merely pointing out what it was as I'm sure a lot of people might not understand. And yes, I read about it, including the website before my post.

We've determined Jaxxx doesn't have the greatest reading comprehension, so I can't speak for him.

Maybe not charity in some respects, but by far a really good cause and the money does go to what's needed and helps in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Go ahead and flame on I'll continue to stand by this.

And I will definitely be going on this ride.

"Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despised the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

My response was directed at Jaxxx.

I recognized you edited your post, so I figured you understood. We're good.
