Epic Mountain Run! - 09/14/2014 - September 6, 2014, 01:05 PM

Last few times out, we've gotten tickets, so I think I'm gonna take a different route. This is NOT a Griffin Run, it's a completely different route, but you know I don't disappoint. I'll be hitting up the mountains West of Winchester.

I want to make this a long ride. Something like 10 hours. 5 out and 5 back. Trust me, this is one to remember.

Let me know if you're in. I'm cutting it off at 10.

You going to be coming past and making a gas stop in Winchester or Strasburg? If so might try to slip in to the ride enroute instead of work I should be doing at the house before snow flies.

It was 45 degrees at the house this morning so I took my time getting ready to head out anyway.

I caught up with JamesCBR in Strasburg about 10:30 and we took back roads down to Rt 33, then went down thru Sugar Grove, made a quick run up from the west side to the top of Reddish knob, then headed back west over to rt220 and took old Rt 55 back. Good times. Not epic, just a quick 250 mile run out and back wit time left to still get some stuff done today.

Not much a view from up on the higher peaks today. Clouds weren't heavy but the cloud ceiling was low.

Top of Reddish Knob today. -

Was good times. It was a bit chilly up on top. Around 56 degrees on my temp gauge. Hell I even fired up my old man heated grips for a bit.

Man, I miss hitting up those roads. It's been a long, long, time. I need to catch up with you for a ride one of these days.

Yeah man. Been way too long! Come on out before the snow flys and we'll make a run!
