Friday March 27, 2009 Call in sick and lets ride. - March 22, 2009, 02:41 PM

It seems as though the noob ride is going to be rained out. I will be there if its not. But I am going to do my ride either way. So come on out and you will have some fun. We will stop for food and make all efforts to avoid rush hour when we get back.

I am sick of the scouting the route so in the off chance that they are checking this site for when we leave, you will need to send me a PM to find out the time and location of the ride.

Fri
Mar 27

Mostly Cloudy

High 64
Low 49

Chance of rain 20% (weather.com)

Ironically I have to call in sick tomorrow because I've been quarantined. I think I may actually have to do some work this week or I'd be there.

And you're right, the noob ride isn't looking good.

Have fun.

Yes they are. But.... I have people like Tornado who know how to ride their own ride and never have a problem. I wait for people at stop signs and behind cars. I wait halfway through a long road for everyone to catch up. If I think for a second that there was a problem I turn around and haul ass to make sure everyone is ok. I am trained in cpr and first aid. I never leave a man or woman behind. The avatar is a warning to ride your own ride.

My first group ride was with widow maker last year. I believe it was one of his noob rides I don't recall. I didn't consider myself a noob to riding even though it was my first year riding and I had only been riding for like 6 months but I was already on my second bike and had logged over 9,000 miles between my sv650 and my Tl1000.

Before we started the ride. He checked my bike over to make sure everything was in good working order. He went over all hand signals with me and signs that are used when on a group ride. He stressed that the only thing that mattered was that I had fun and to ride my own ride. He never made me feel like and idiot and told me to ask any questions if I had any.

The ride began at a slow pace, eventually some people went their separate ways and the pace picked up to a more spirited ride. I had a great time and would recommend anyone that is not used to riding in a group to go on this ride.

As always you should be comfortable with normal operation of your motorcycle turning, braking ,shifting and so on. If not you should be in a parking lot not on the road. O BTW no one was ever left behind.

I hope I can make it on this ride I have to ask the boss. Boss= My girlfriend

I hope I don't work to hard Thursday night into Friday morning I'll try to make this... I will try to pull an all nighter like I did the first time I did your Friday ride... I may be a little lethargic but I will be riding

Hmm... I might consider this one! I haven't used any sick leave in a while.. This Friday should be a good day to use it! (of course if it doesn't... you know... something I don't want to say but look at the weather)

Edit: Actually, since I never have supervision on Friday, I could ride to work to sign in and just get to the real business. Where does everyone plan on meeting? I work in Arlington! (Ballston area)
