Arrow Lima DC bike night - April 24, 2011, 10:05 PM

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _________________

One of DC's premier club owners has opened the doors of his venue to us.
Yep that's right! Lima of DC will be blocking off the parking area (in front) of the club to bikes only in the effort to build a sport bike supporting venue. The goal is us in DC at a premier venue fully promoted and occupied by sport bikes and of course the riders.

Wednesday May 4th is our opportunity to bring the sport bikes to DC.

While there is tentative support from many facets of the community I am asking all of you to come out and enjoy a friendly invite from one of DC most established club owners.

Enjoy the club while security monitors the bikes in the blocked off parking. The patio offers a front row view to your bike while you enjoy drinks, food and music being brought to you by our selected dj's. The growth of the night depends on us! So hope you'll come show your support.

Bring em out.. Bring em out!

If you will please post up if your potentially in. I'm trying to gauge interest to ensure there is adequate parking ect..

LIMA DC

The happy hour is extended it begins before 7 and has been extended to 9pm for Wed nights.

Type of Music - Various styles including house, hip hop, trance, breaks and top 40 / electronic ect.. we are being asked to have a variety.

DJ Lexus King and DJ Reed Rothchild are spinning this event.

Parking: right in front of the place (that has a big outdoor patio) next to the curb. We will be there early to block off as much parking as possible. They offer a valet service for cars. If there is a need there is metered parking on the adjacent corner that is free after 10pm. 50 cents buys you 1 hour on the meters.

There is a free coat check service that will include helmets. If your bringing in your lid you will be asked to check it. The management assumes full responsibility.

FYI - there were white flashes all night from the intersection cameras. I was told they were possibly a trial system but be warned 14th / K is camera equipped so roll in wisely.

Damn I haven't been there in years! Nice spot. Just curious, will there be a cover charge/if so, how much?

yes and why I posted so quickly. I've already contacted John and others. We need the head count and honestly... this is the window of opportunity. M and I will leave his name at that doesn't just do this sort of thing. He believes that the sb scene might.. finally have the devotion to produce. He's offering a gift..not something I take lightly. It's not a shallow offer but will require a devotion this scene can offer if not divided on drama.

Cover.. for now no. Discounts, raffles and other ideas are still in this. The hours to span 8pm to 12pm. He's even trying to get vendors and race bikes to the patio. I'm still working on the rest. It's like I said.. not your average offer. Support from this site and scene will be extremely crucial to the growth and success. If this sprouts there is publicity and more to be hemmed out.

Wow, I'm not understanding half of what's being said in this thread. How about simplifying it like this...

Event:
Date:
Time:
Address:
Cost:
Type of Music/Food:
Parking:

Kind of like a flyer in text mode. I'd be interested in supporting but I don't even know what Lima is. And if it's in a shady area I'm not about to leave my bike out of my sight.

On another note, if you wanna get all Sportbikes involved then you have to post on the Meetup groups too. I've noticed that like 2/3 of riders in this area aren't even on .net.

Lima is on K street, on the corner of 14th street, most def not a shady area. My friend spins there often (DJ Zenbi). I go there anyway, so I'll most def be there! It's one of the nicest clubs in DC as of today.

Here is what I got:

Event: bike night
Date: Wed 4th of may
Time: from 8 till 12
Address: corner of K NW street and 14th St NW
Cost: based on what you drink/eat
Type of Music/Food: club music, it goes by many names but it all sounds like car alarms to me
Parking: right in front of the place (that has a big outdoor patio) next to the curb.

Lucky, also include dress code. I have been to Lima several times on Thursday and a couple of times on the weekend and they didn't let me in once because I had tennis shoes on.

The dress code would have to be totally relaxed for this event.....

we ride in leathers and boots.......

no way they can expect folks to ride up "dressed to impress"...........
