Memorial day ride (5/30) - May 26, 2011, 09:29 PM

I was hoping to find a ride for Memorial day (Monday), but doesn't look like anyone has posted anything so I figured I would.

EDIT:
Meet at 17019 Dumfries Road Dumfries, VA 22026 (exxon) and Route is up for discussion. I will get there at 900 and be pulling out at 930.

Are you new to the area? East of Potomac Mills is the Potomac River. Does your bike float? There is a reason we ride out west.

Also, meeting at a mall that is the 10th most visited tourist destination in the state and the second largest mall in the metro area is a bad idea. Not to mention it's a holiday weekend genius.

I might be up for a ride but not anywhere near the mall.

Ouch! Well the mall doesn't open till 10a! I just said Woodbridge area (maybe the mall) but we can meet anywhere in that vicinity. I'm open to suggestions, so please make one instead of complaining.
Also we are lucky that rivers by definition have land on both sides so if we can find a bridge, we wont have to float our bikes across... check out the map in the OP, it could use some refining for the first 23 miles of the trip to avoid the highway, but again, I'm open for any and all suggestions just so long as I get some good riding in.

I refined some of the MD side, I don't know too many great roads, but I took Oliver Shop the other day and it would deff be more fun than Rt 301
I-95 S to Potomac Mills Cir V1.2 - Google Maps I don't know shit about VA, so maybe someone else could tweak to avoid 95....

Please read my posts with gallons of sarcasm mixed in. My posts are hardly ever serious unless I'm complaining about those stupid hybrid drivers.

I would avoid 95 at all costs especially on Monday, the day of mass return. I would head West or South/West. I'm afraid your East route will involve lengthy traffic interruptions.

I can lead down some back roads to fredricksburg....but the roads dont start until stafford county court house.......which means we will be stuck in traffic for like 10 mins from quantico to stafford. We can meet in the parking lot of k mart, the one on dale blvd. It doesnt gett crowded

I can't pull over......I forgot which ones the brake.

Ok, Lets do this. Meet at the Exxon (17019 Dumfries Road Dumfries, VA 22026) 9:00, depart by 9:30.
The route is up in the air (I'm down for heading west) and if anyone wants to decide and lead, feel free.
