Mt Rogers interest thread - June 16, 2009, 01:49 PM

Mt Rorgers/Marion/Shady Valley, TN area has some very impressive roads. One of these roads is the best twisty road I have ever been on, and I've been on quite a few. This includes Deals Gap stuff. But for some reason, I have never made a trip down here. I only go through this area on my way to somewhere else.

So... I would like to ride down there and hit all the good roads I know, and then explore a little more as well. This would be either a 3 day trip, or a 4 day trip. (1 day each to ride down/back, and either 1 or 2 days to explore.)

The goal of the trip is to hit some amazing twisties, and just relax and chill out at the end of the day.

If you are interested in such a trip, please post. If you are familiar with this area, please post some advice and recommendations. Thanks!

Anyone know whatever happened to the custom bike builder that killed the scooter rider in Florida? I'd google it but I can remember his name.

Ill believe corporations are people when Texas executes one.

If Stan goes, count me in. Later in the summer or early fall is best for me.

I've tried to organize a ride down in that area before. Couldn't get any takers. I have a house in Pulaski to stay at too.

I ride it nearly every weekend and sometimes after class!!

And to those that have not been riding in SW Va and Tenn...GO! The roads are great, there is next to no traffic, and the cops (rarely even seen) never hassle you (except in Tennessee).
