My 3-day trip to Lake Placid and VT - August 25, 2015, 03:33 PM

went out last friday for a 3 day trip upstate and first time riding the Adirondacks/VT. 1409 miles after all done.

Day 1: departed Columbia MD at 6:30a; 146 at Towson to 23 to 24 at Red Lion, 624 into Lancaster, 222 into Reading, then 209 Port Jervis NY; 213 west at Stone Ridge, 28 Catskills, 30 to Amsterdam, Speculator, Saranac Lake arrived at Lake Placid 7:30p; 557 miles

Day 2: Lake Placid Olympic Center; Ski Jump and Bobsled; 9N to Au Sable Fork (A Usable Fork?); 22 to Essex ferry on Lake Champlain; Fairfax, VT; 347 miles

Day 3: VT Rt. 100 all the way down into Mass; 2 West into NY; back roads to Chatham; 9W to Palisades Pkwy; NJ Tnpk; home; 505 miles. I wanted to ride Bear Mtn, but the traffic was horrible.

I did an extended version of this maybe 4 years ago, awesome up that way but some of the roads are in bad shape.

Lots of roads are being repaved, rt 100 must be nice right now... I was out there earlier this year, and road crews had it torn down to gravel then.

Rt 2 is nice... up & over that hill is a fun section. reminiscent of rt 211. I still haven't found any roads as good as rt 33 up this way though.

NOICE! Im heading up there soon to do the 200 on 100.. start up at the canada border and ride my bike 200 miles down 100.. pedal bike

roads up there are awesome.
