I know it's fairly early but was just seeing who all is going down to Myrtle Beach for bike week this year and seeing if anyone had any ideas/hookups on a place to stay.

I see this site is up:
http://www.myrtlebeachbikeweek.com/

Then this was posted last year. Did the mayor change his mind or what?

I'm going in May. The way the laws are now Kevin is that there is no bike week inside the city limits but everything still goes on outside the city limits. I went last year and we just stayed in South or North Myrtle and never crossed into the city limits. You do that then you're fine.

I go every year since 2003...but i skip last year because of the law... I think Im going this year again...

I love and miss Myrtle Beach sooooo much.

I heard the Mayor who did this shit got Fired/Voted out of office and shit is suppose to be on again.

Once i find out im reserving my room. My room i get is in Horray County and not sure if thats in the city limits or not.

i always thought I would like going to bike weeks....

not so fun. It's gets old quick. I mean I could see going to the beach to RIDE and then hang out at the beach all evening/night...then going riding in the AM again then hang out at the beach etc...

BUT going up and down, the strip to bars sitting in traffic on a hot ass bike...no.

having some random girl/woman in a bikini hop on the back of the bike in flip flops is way too much responsibility that I want to handle while on my bike...

I understand how some enjoy it. But I just don't see it as fun. I know a group of people going down. They went last year, I was supposed to ride down but my bike was OC so I was in the garage working on it. Anyways the more I think about it and the more I think about NOT going...I'd probaby have MORE fun without my bike OR following said senario as above ride in day party at night....

What do you value more? Life or Image?

There is getting to be more and more sportbikes but there definately is a lot of chrome but no one ever gives us grief for riding what we do. Yeah we ride during the day park em at night then cab out to party.

Kinda got off topic on this but does anyone know of any hookup on a place to stay down there during bike week? Would like to find a house to rent out. If anyone knows of anything let me know.

Myrtle is for the younger crowd, but Miami is for the grown and sexy! A lot of people did not go to Myrtle last year b/c money was funny for a lot of people. Things are picking up and I know quite a few people are getting their plans together to go down south.

I prefer Miami. Nothing like Myrtle b/c it ain't about the bikes. It's like NBA All-Star Weekend on steroids. There are 300,000 people in the South Beach area and 200,000 are women in bikinis! There are parties everywhere and b/c there aren't a lot of bikes, there a lot of chicks who dig bikes and want to ride with you. Because the main roads (Washington, Collins, & Ocean) all run parallel to each other, you can dip through the alleys and hit the open road and not have to be stuck in traffic unless you want to be. There a lot of great places to ride (Florida Keys, Everglades, & numerous breezeways) and the police DO NOT HASSLE you unless you give them reason to.

Go on youtube and do a search using the tags Miami & Memorial Day to see what I am talking about.

Ride smart & safe!

I don't trust them enough yet.
After the last year I went where they made it pretty damn apparent they didn't want "us" there.

I'll probably do Miami this year instead but I'm not 100% on that yet.

This statement leads me to believe that you are confusing the bike week that everyone else is referring to........

Did you go Memorial Day Weekend or did you go to the bike week in early May.......

ALL sportbikes are at the Memorial Day Weekend event.......

Harleys and a few sportbikes are at the early may event.....

Last year was the worst year in history for it and Myrtle Beach felt it.....

So being specific about the actual week that you plan on attending will help with what hook up you can get, because the rates and vacancies vary tremendously between these two events........
