Noob ride - Sat 4 - 4 - March 16, 2009, 08:31 AM

Saturday 4/4 New date

Weather looks good at this point, but two weeks out doesn't tell us much.

I'm putting this up early to hype it and who knows, we might wind up with some sponsorships. Gear giveaways or at least free doughnuts.

I'm also putting this up to gauge interest from noobs (learners) and non-noobs (teachers).

I did a couple of noob rides last year and learned a lot from them. Hopefully they will continue to improve.

There will (hopefully) be some more experienced riders there that can help you along with your riding.

Looking for people with camera set-ups, that are willing to work their way through the group and get some footage.

I also give free combination air guitar / dance lessons during the pre-ride meeting:

Details will be posted here.

If you, your friend, your dog, or your red headed step child are going to go, YOU MUST POST UP.

You must be a licensed rider - permit or full license.

You must be wearing gear. This is at a MINIMUM:

MC jacket
Gloves
Leather boots

Meet spot : Point of Rocks Chevron on Clay St

for example, here are directions from 'Arlington' to POR:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...35962&t=h&z=10

Time: Noon

At this point I'm not subdividing into maybes or definites. I'm also not distinguishing between noobs and not-so-noobs.

If you've said that you are going to help, or I assumed that, I put you in that column. Otherwise you are in the noob column. Correct me where I'm wrong.

yeah man, another lesson learned for me. That stop sign is pretty blind and a terrible place to pull out if you are just learning to work a clutch.

We got you up and running though:

The meetup is the tricky part. We met in VA and went to POR last time, which we may still do, but I'd like to have a MD group ride in also if it gets big enough. Looking for OSD to step up if this is the case.

def have to get used to this 530 -1/+2 gearing change now that my timing is set correctly with the new manual CCT....after an entire year of riding on crap...kinda got used to crap...forgot how good 750cc's really feels....

hopefully I can get some new rubber before then.

Settle down there cowboy. In many ways the noob ride is a sacrifice, because we will be going slooowwww.

But we would really appreciate the help.

It's still gonna be fun.

We're two weekends out from the proposed date.

It may be even later depending on weather.

This is just a 'Hey, don't fret, there will be a noob ride soon' thread

No, but you do have to be able to pass an elementary school level reading comprehension test in order to successfully post on internet forums such as this one
