The offical April 1st Mega Meet Post - March 28, 2006, 11:42 AM

It has been a very long winter but spring is now nipping at our heels in hopes that all the car enthusiasts of the Mid Atlantic region will awake from their hibernation. Pull off those car covers, turn the key to hear the sound of that beast that you have been building for the past couple of months, and head on over to the 2006 Mid Atlantic MEGA MEET (MAMM) season opener on April 1st from 7pm to 11pm!
The MAMM management has been working since the 2005 November meet to ensure that all permits have been officially signed for this season and we are now ready to have a blast. The main focus in the hobby that we all love and live deals primarily with cars and trucks, so we decided to give the motorcycle/ATV/kart owners a little spotlight at our first meet.

Precision Motorsports is setting up their portable dyno and will be making tons of noise from 7pm to 11pm. It will only cost you $10 to find out what your crotch rocket or cruiser puts to the wheels and you must register at their tent. You can also bring your turbo charged ATV or kart and show that even the smallest packages can pack a huge punch.
While you are watching the dyno, checking out the most beautiful cars on the East Coast, or just hanging out with your buds; we hope that you will enjoy some of the delicious goodies provided by....

The entrance fee is still only $1 per car to get into the MAMM lot or you can park at the upper lot and walk down for free.
Do not park at the gas station or at the Hotel because your vehicle will be towed at your expense.
We will be holding the raffle again this year and you can purchase tickets at the MAMM tent that will located in Vendor Row for only a $1 a ticket. Our sponsors are very excited about the 2006 season and are providing gift certificates, products, and/or services to be given away at the raffle so do not miss the opportunity to score some great stuff.

The Mid Atlantic MEGA MEET would like to thank everyone that helped support our efforts last season and we are planning to bring you even a greater time during 2006. See you Saturday night and don't be late to the largest meet in the Mid Atlantic Region.

Do you have an area designated for bikes? For those of you who want to meet up in the Woodbridge area, we'll meet at the IKEA parking lot at 7:00pm and roll up from there.

When you show up at the lot for the meet they will direct all bikes to one area. This way you can register for the dyno and this keeps all the bikes together. I will see you there I will be the one in the front of the line.

This is the route that came up according to Google from the C'ville Multiplex to the site of the Mega Meet. Is there a better way??

Distance:18.8 mi (about 31 mins)

1.Head northeast from Multiplex Dr - go 33 ft
2.Turn right at Machen Rd - go 0.1 mi
3.Turn right at Centreville Rd - go 0.2 mi
4.Turn left at New Braddock Rd - go 1.3 mi
5.Continue on Braddock Rd - go 2.4 mi
6.Take the VA-7100 S ramp - go 0.3 mi
7.Continue on Fairfax County Pky/John F (JACK) Herrity Pky - go 3.7 mi
8.Bear right onto the VA-123 ramp - go 0.2 mi
9.Turn left at Ox Rd - go 10 mi
10.Turn left at Annapolis Way - go 0.2 mi

I could lead the group down to there through Clifton, if people are interested. I know exactly where the meet is and know some decent roads to get there that won't be jammed packed with cars.

It'll end up going down Old Bridge Road which has plenty of lights. I'll post up the route if people are interested, so we all know how to get there in case we get split up.

Are people interested? Meet at the Multiplex and head through Clifton to Hoodbridge? Relaxed pace as the speedlimit is low, a guy died along one of the roads a few weeks ago, and it can be crawling with LEOs.

Plus the residents of Clifton don't apprecaite the bikes - I took a detour thru the town last night on my way home and they make it obvious.

Sounds good, I'll be there. Can someone tell me where the easiest place for me to meet up is. I'll be coming down 95 to Rt1. I guess the Ikea lot at what time?
Oh yeah if anyone else is coming from north of DC... let me know, we can ride down together.
