PGR ride - Tuesday - June 14, 2009, 04:57 PM

So before I go off to Fort Lewis in a week and a half, I'd like to go on at least 1 ride with the Patriot Guard Riders. This is the email I got today:

CDR Charles K. Springle, 52, died May 11, 2009 from injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident at Camp Liberty, Iraq. He was one of 5 troops allegedly killed by a US Army sergeant at the combat stress center where CDR Springle was counseling and assisting the troops.

PGR has been granted the privilege of standing in Honor for this American Hero at services in Morehead City, NC, on 20 MAY 2009, and also when the Commander is laid to his final Hero's rest on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) on 16 June, 2009 at approximately 0900 hours.

PGR will be there - standing tall, silent and proud for this 21 year Navy veteran who gave his all for the country he loved, and the troops he was helping.

16 Jun 09 Plan

Stage: 0745 hrs Iwo Jima Memorial (Marine Corps War Memorial)
Brief: 0750 hrs
Transit: 0800 hrs to ANC Admin Bldg
Honors: 0900 hrs Graveside ANC (time approx.)

Ride Captain: TBA (in the interim contact the undersigned)

Iron Horses preferred, cages welcome as always.
Mounted large flags preferred for transit (furl upon ANC parking).
Large hand-held flags NOT used in ANC for graveside services.
Military mandated ID / gear NOT required for this mission.

Remember we are here to honor the Hero and family, friends, and comrades-in-arms, and to stand tall, silent and proud. If you cannot join us, please set aside a moment of silence at the appointed hour, to reflect on their sacrifice.

I'm still not 100% on this since I might have something to do with my dad on Tuesday, but I'd like to see who's interested in this.
