!!Ride Sunday June 11th Virginia to West Virginia !! - June 7, 2006, 08:39 PM

Hello All,

Right now me and a couple of guys heading out Sunday Morning for a 4 to 5 hour run. We will be carving the roads of West Virginia like last years Christmas Turkey. The roads are excellent, fast and smooth. We stop for fuel and a small break other than that we stay on the pipe The pace depends on the skill set of the riders, last time we did this had a few new to the sport so we laid back some, for those that know the road and want to blast go for it just wait at interections for the rest of the pack. My 05 busa can only go so fast thru turns with me riding it but I will catch back up on the straights The weather is suppose to be excellent both days but normally on this run Sundays less traffic. and next weekend is Fathers day so this weekend will be great. We like to be on the road by 9:00 just to beat traffic and heat and be back early afternoon to enjoy the rest of the day. We will meet at the McDonalds off route 66 in Front Royal. Not sure the exit for those coming up from fairfax but it is the 522/Front Royal exit. If anyone is interested reply to this thread so we know your coming if not we will blast early. For those that come, I only ask ride safe doesn't matter how fast you ride no ego's getting hurt if someone is going to slow and you pull the trigger on them just do it safely so you and the other guy/girl don't end up in a tree

We will wait a few minutes than head off, for those that get there late take a right out of the parking lot, go to the first light and turn right toward Strasburg. From Strasburg turn right at the light go about 1/4 mile turn left on 55 you should catch up somewhere on that road.

Later,

Heys guys... i would love to ride on Sunday.
Experienced rider, I have no trouble keeping a fast pace, but don't mind laying back for others sake.
Should be a beautiful day!

I'm coming from Frederick MD, I think I just take 7 south?

I may come depending on weather conditions. I'll have no problem keeping up with whatever pace you set. I ride out 55 and 33 all time. cf3232 can vounch on that one lol.

I'm in Warrenton. Have no problems meetin' up with anyone in the manassas / centreville area to ride out there. Just let me know.

Weather is going to be great, see how it is tomorrow and Sunday will be a copy of that day, except less traffic. Have gotten some PM's about this ride and the pace. If you are really new to sport bikes this will not be the best ride for you, the roads are awesum but it sounds like most riders will want to ride at a faster pace than someone that has had a bike for 5 months or so. Riding a busa which for its size does handle very well but not in the class of the pure sport bikes like R1, ZX, CBR, etc so I will just be somewhere in the middle and on some straights I will pull the trigger and easily kiss 150+ on the speedo but than I will be back to a reasonable speed and let the extreme rip it and catch you at the interections if need be. Looking forward to riding have not been out for a few weeks and need to clean some carbon out of the exhaust if you know what I mean
