Ride Sunday Sept 9th Great Twisties Winchester VA - September 4, 2007, 04:25 PM

Hello all,

Well for those that know me last time I posted up a ride a group of us meet, one had a flat tire and than I hit a deer at 50mph which was not fun to say the least. So after 2 months I am back and ready for more deer slaying ! This time it is personal

So anyone that want to blast some back roads and carve the turns like last years Christmas Turkey this is the ride Great roads nice views, if you have time to enjoy them. We ride safe but somewhat a fast pace, I tell everyone ride at your own pace nobody would get left behind however this is not a ride if your new to sport bike riding. I ride a 2005 busa so you don't have to worry about me being to fast in the turns, you can only throw that beast around so much before the size and weight reminds you it is not a pure sport bike. But it has good pickup. LOL

Anyhow Sunday leaving Sheet at 9:15 in Stephens City, Va. Ride will be 4 - 5 hours depending on pace. We will leave sharp at 9:15 so plan accordingly. We don't race each other because we want to come back in one piece... I will send a memo to the damn deer to stay off the road that morning

Hope to see ya than.

Bill

Leaving early so we can be back early in time for Sun, Football, or Honey Do List My MO is always riding on Sunday, have done the same ride on a Saturday but there is twice the traffic, everyone is out doing yard sales, going shopping etc. Seems Sunday allot less traffic which means we own the roads in the morning

It's way the hell out there by Winchester. It's tempting, but coming from Maryland means I've already ridden a good while before the ride starts.

Stephens City Sheetz is at the intersection of Interstate 81 & 277. We will be riding the roads of West Virginia low traffic and great roads if you know what I mean. I have gotten some PM's about the pace of the ride so let me explain. We are not out to race each other, that is for track days, The goal is not how fast we get there but to do it and come back in one piece. Rarely do I use the brakes in the turns because I am going through them at super sonic speeds just like to run smooth and percise through them. Now on some straights if you want to get on the pipe.. have at it but than back down to a reasonable speed through the mountain turns. Rides are no fun when I rider goes down or hits a deer I want to see this ride from beginning to end. We only break a few times for gas this is not a social event, I only ride once a week so when it is my turn to ride I want to ride not stand around and BS If I set the pace and after the first break the group wants to step it up I will or will turn it over to someone else that knows where we are going no hard feelings here, and after all a Busa is not the best for turns but 20 years of riding fast bikes and doing track days I do okay with it

The address for those that are thinking about it:

Sheetz
747 Fairfax St
Stephens City, VA 22655
(540) 869-1312

Anyone that has done the ride comes back with a smile on their face for at least a few days
