be prepared to sit around and bake in the pentagon parking lot for hours prior to the ride starting up... done it last two years now... not really the most fun experience but something you should do at least once.

i would suggest to ride down with the group from one of the dealerships to the pentagon (i rode from battley cycles in g-burg), then break off from the escorted group right before hitting the pentagon. go grab brunch/lunch somewhere in DC and find a spot to join in on the ride after it starts. this lets you skip the 2-3 hour suckfest in the pentagon parking lot

just my $.02 anyways

let's f*cking rage!

I also rode in it last year. I don't have a military background but it was cool to ride and see all the support for the troops. The waiting at the pentagon was kind of underwhelming; no organized speakers and few vendors; just park your bike and try to grab a bit of shade under an overpass. All in all I agree it's worth experiencing but the brunch idea is a good one.

I did Rattle the Runway the past few years. Great cause and I enjoyed it, but it was an adventure at times. RT is 10x bigger and I can see this becoming a huge cluster if not handled correctly. If you go, have a good time and enjoy the experience.

We rode in with a group from the Harley shop in Triangle, bypassed the Pentagon altogether and just rolled straight into DC to Thunder Alley. Gave us the freedom to not wait around for another xxx hours at the Pentagon.. The only waiting we did was early in the morning at the Harley shop..

I haven't done the ride before, been scared off by horror stories of sitting in a mass of bikes baking in the heat for hours. If it weren't for that I'd join in.
