For those of you who wish to ride this event and have never done it before and are a bit uncertain. Or if you have nobody to ride with. They are having a big event at Patriot Harley Davidson in Fairfax before the main ride. Then they are all rolling there together under police escort. I am sure you would be welcome to join them!

Don't be a hater. This is a slow paced ride anyways, so what's it matter if you want some peeps to ride with?

I have some very good freinds that ride Harleys. They are pretty cool. You might be suprised, you might just make a new friend or two.

I did the Purple Hearts ride. Only a few sportbikes out the the near hundred Harleys (don't quote me... but there sure was a lot of Harleys). We had fun and met some pretty interesting folks... and the purpose of the ride was personally important to me... so I did it.

Don't knock it 'til you try it Shaun.

Truth: Marines are the Ambassadors in Blue, they can be found in all "climes" and place.

...But, do you know how a Marine "rates" the countries and cities he's toured?

...By how easy it is to get laid, get drunk, and get in a fight.

...Go figure.

Glad to hear you did something meaningful to you and had a good time in the process!

I went to it, but rode from Battley Cycles in Gaithersburg, MD.
I meet up with 1 guy from another club and meet a few people.
I thought that I would be riding the only DUCATI there, but there were a few.
The other guy had to roll out early, so we didn't hit the Pentagon.
We just rode around 'till he had to split.
I stayed on the bike for another4 or 5 hours just riding where ever.
I wish I had rode with all of ya'll though.

Cruiser hubby and I headed for the Pentagon around 11 or 12 yesterday. I have to admit, I've never seen so many motorcycles in one place! Wow. Sportbikes were underrepresented, but still plentiful. We got there late, and didn't feel like hanging around in the sun for ANOTHER hour or two just to do the ride, but during the time we were there, we talked to a LOT of great people and really got a feel for what Memorial Day means.

If you've never done it, I'd highly recommend it. I sort of wish we'd hung around and waited to do the ride, but the sun doesn't like my skin and I probably did myself a favor. We'll get there earlier next year.
