spare bike - March 26, 2008, 02:26 PM

does any one have a spare POS bike my friend can use for a couple of hours to learn to ride on, i promised to teach him and he is bugging the hell out of me cause i won't let him learn on my bike cause it is the only one i have. it would only be a couple of hrs in a parking lot so he can learn how to start and stop and maybe turn.

pm nunyadamnbusiness, I think he's sellin a streeted out GSXR 600 for a smokin price that looks beast. Your buddy could drop it and no-one would know but him.

the thread:1997 GSXR 600 $1500. Clean title ready to rampage.

what I was gonna say.

Info from Nunya:

Hi. I bought the bike off a guy from DCSB last year. It's a 1997 GSXR 600. Seen many track days. Looking at the frame sliders the bike has obviously been down. Title is clean and in my hands. Had electrical issues and it had been sitting for a year. I never washed it and basically took off all the crappy race plastics and far rear subframe. Cleaned out the gas tank, carbs and tons of other stuff. Got it running and it was strong. Pics:

After that I bought a new front and rear sprocket. Purchased a new chain, some lights and put it all back together. Wanted to run it without a key so I got a keyless gas cap and started looking for new triples and bars. Put a few hundred miles on it. Pics:

Wanted a more streetfighter look so I spent $350 on the best triple trees/bar combo available http://www.spieglerusa.com/cfm/sbk.cfm

I still have the clip ons and stock triple tree. When replacing the triples I cut all the wires to the key switch. Bike turns over but Iím not getting spark. Been working on my chopper project all winter (http://nunyadambusiness.blogspot.com ) and I have a total of 5 bikes now. No time to even look at the gsxr. Itís $1500 when I get the electrical issue fixed. $1200 as it sits. Price is very fair and firm.
