Super Newb Sweets before Treats ride 5/4 - April 30, 2014, 05:49 PM

Weather permitting (no rain in forecast, good temps)

Leaving north Chantilly around 1000 hrs

Meander at a reasonable newb pace on split lane roads (first section is RT28 which is like a highway, but the rest is chill) up to Harpers Ferry. Grab a cone. Backroads ride to Blue Ridge Seafood (Blue Ridge Seafood - Gainesville, VA) between 12-3 to devour crabs/seafood and listen to some country/pop classic tunes belted out by a friend of mine. Load our happy bellies back on bikes and split from there. Smiles all around. Don't have to stay for the whole 3 hours, that's just a window.

If you have a permit and need to be cheauferred home, let me know. I'll need a head count so I can write up a route to make it happen.

Not a "BYOB" ride. No bragging rights, no trophies. Just a couple of easy roads to run that are not super technical.

Only taking up to 5 with me. Prefer newbs or people new to the area. Need to have a gassed up legal motorcycle in good running condition with insurance and an M endorsement or a permit. Your gear is your concern. Quick Q&A session before ride to make sure we are all of the same page, then it's kickstands up.

For other riders/rides that are out and about on Sunday, we'll hope to see you guys at Blue Ridge. I've never been before, but my friend Chris is an up and coming musician/performer and they booked him to play there a bunch and Sunday is his first show. Apparently the food is really good too.

Salva and I ate at Blue Ridge a couple weekends ago. Food is great.

I may try and get him to tag along over there again.

A ride on the good roads in the area, Seafood, and live music?

Nicely done. Sounds like it's going to be a great time!

Awesome offer, Hollywood!

I'd go just for ice cream and seafood... but I'm teaching a BRC this weekend.

ETA: I have AM shift... maybe Todd and I will try to swing by for a late lunch after my class.

I'll swing by on my way back from Lake Anna. Hard to pass up boats, bikes, seafood, music and good buddies all in one day

Come on you two! Who doesn't like ice cream before a giant plate of steamed and fried seafood!!

Also, for those interested, I fudged the times. Chris goes on to play from 3 till 6. So we'll probably roll out of the meetup around 1 o'clockish and head to HF. I've got a Baltimore buddy linking up and heading south with us so we should arive at food right at 3pm. With only ice cream in your belly imagine how much seafood you'll be able to consume! Plus we'll be eating after the lunch rush and before the insane Sunday dinner rush. As the weekend creeps closer, post up interest.

Thanks

Just found out last night that our older son is coming home for the weekend. Haven't seen him since Christmas, so we're gonna do the family thing instead.

Maybe next time!
