Tasker's gap - Wed ride in the dirt!!! - November 24, 2008, 08:13 PM

Anybody interested? Bueller? I'm breaking in a new bike and going to start gradually and speed it up.

Anybody up for it? They have done a lot of trail maintenance and it's probably the easiest riding up there I've seen yet. (but still very rocky!!!)

Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

Possible. What time you thinking about hitting it up? I'm about 30 minutes from there.

I'm hoping to leave Ashburn around 8 or so. Should be in the Upper parking lot by 10. (After securing the day pases, food, etc.)

My buddy is bringing his kid and teaching him to ride. I'm there to break in the new bike and blow off some stress. Expect to see my acting like a pachinko ball off the trees.

Swapped out sprockets on the DR-Z today in anticipation of needing to have a nice low first gear for some of the trails up there (I'm a grandma on dirt, even moreso in rock gardens)

Sigh.... Battery was nearly dead again. I've never owned a bike that can kill a battery as fast as the DR-Z can. I rode it just a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, I've got it on the trickle charger so if she comes back to life by tomorrow morning I'll be up there. Not sure whether I'm going to ride up or throw it in the back of the truck. I'll shoot you a PM with my cell # in a minute.

Don't worry...you can always bumpstart it!

And my wr450 is the exact same way. I always charge it before a ride. In fact the new bike is charged up now. two stroke with e-start....woooohoooo.

Next time I'll take you on the rocky trails. I was taking it easy due to the new bike status. Next time we'll be so far out you'll hear banjos!!!
