Taty and Toad's Noob Ride v3.0 Sunday 6/28 - June 8, 2009, 03:22 PM

***TEMPORARILY CLOSED***

I hate to do it but I've got to put a temporary "freeze" on the sign-ups. There are several "maybe's" on the list, as we get closer to the ride and they either commit or back out I can make adjustements to the list. We originally were going to limit it to 3 groups and +/-30 people but there has been so much response that Craig (roadrunner78 stepped up to lead a 4th group (big thanks!).

If you'd like to be "wait-listed" post up here or shoot me a PM. Sorry to do this but this thing is spiraling out of control.

Update on Mom's
And this really doesn't sit well with me, but what are you gonna do!? Scott called them this morning to reserve the "banquet room" and they now charge $100 for the room! I could see if we were doing a birthday party there and bringing in outside cake or ice cream or whatever, but we're going to be spending HUNDREDS of dollars there. I guess everyone can pitch in a couple extra bucks. Lame.

Scott and I are putting together another noob ride. We did a few of these last summer, everyone had a great time and they went off without incident. We're going to limit it to 30ish people again, we'll shoot for 3 groups of 10 (or so). This is a true noob ride, the pace will be SLOW. We encourage newer riders or those new to group riding to come out. This is a good opportunity to meet some good people, learn some decent roads and picks the brains of some of the more experienced guys (B-mac has been racing the last 10 years and has been a control rider/ instructor, lots of knowledge and experience there).

Scheduled for Sunday, June 28.
Meet-up is 8:30-8:45 at the Bloom parking lot next to Sheetz in Haymarket. We'll roll by 9 or slightly after. Please gas up before the meet, there won't be a fuel stop before we reach Front Royal.

The route: Head to Mom's Family Restaurant in Front Royal via "the long way," eat lunch, then roll back to the meet-up spot. We should be back by 3 or 3:30 depending on how everything goes.

Post up if you're interested in helping or sweeping, we could always use the help.

(And yes, Kenny and Noah, I went ahead and penciled you guys in as sweepers, thanks for steppin' up!)

You live more in five minutes on a bike like this going flat out than some people live in a lifetime.

You don't technically have to be a "noob," just don't come out expecting to be railin' that SV...

It's gonna be S.L.O.W.!
