Hey all. I found a pretty nice ride today I'd like to share with everyone. Started in Leesburg, went out Rt 7 to Rt 9 through the mountain twisties into WVA. Went through Harpers Ferry then back into VA, then back over the river again into MD. Rode up (340 ??) into Burkettsville. Rode through some nice country roads into Brunswick. Left onto rt 14 (I guess it was 14) down to Point of Rocks. Went over the river again into Virginia, down 15 back into Leesburg. The trip was about 80 miles, 2 hour ride. About 80% of this ride was on nice country roads or twisties, very little highway riding. I know my explanation above was terrible, but hopefully you'll understand it enough. If anyone wants to check out this ride sometime let me know, I'm sure I'll be back out on it again soon. Later !

I consider those roads highways and not very twisty. Just ones I put up with to get to the good stuff.

I've got a decent route thru that area from DC, a little under 200 mi. Most of the roads are "highways" but they're definitely some of the "nicer" highways. Fairly twistie in some spots, lots of elevation changes, etc. I rode thru there yesterday with the wife. Shady Hook or whatever that runs into Harper's Ferry Rd and takes you thru Antietam is a nice road. I made my way there via Lovittsville Rd from Point of Rocks. Stopped for coffee in Sharpsburg. I ended up circling back around Middletown and Burkittsville on my way back.

I agree. There are very few turns even on that route. Keep heading west if you want to get to the twisty stuff.

agree, those are some of the better country roads up towards harpers ferry. i'm familiar with those roads and others like sandy hook rd. mentioned by rekoniz which runs along the potomac on the md. side passing antietam and into sharpsburg so let me know anytime you want to get out and explore some more. i got a nice route mapped out from leesburg up towards va/wva/md and back down towards middleburg, va. it probably covers about 150 to 200 mi. anyway, let me know when you wanna go riding.
