Vatican Assassins' Ride: Sunday, 3/27, 1 PM, Rockville - March 25, 2011, 12:48 PM

"We are high priests, Vatican assassin warlocks. We work for the pope, we murder people."

This is for all the gnarly gnarlingtons that talk tough on the boards. Forecast is for cold and snow Sunday so while you're typing, I'll be bringing the heated gear back out of storage and riding.

Date: Sunday, 3/27
Time: 1 PM
Place: Montrose Crossing B&N Starfucks, Rockville, MD
Pace: Mmmbout tah where the front's starting to go

This is not a joke. Don't have the gear or bike for it? Tell your mommy 'cause it's not my problem. Loser, winning, bye bye.

After the ride:

So much for the SNOW!!! UUBusa, dodge131, and Dark trucked over from Leesburg, and nani showed up on his new 690 SM. We had a good pack of hooligans for today, and we killed it! It was all sunshine and unpainted roads, gravel, pasture, forest trails, mud, water, stairs, wheelies,... Guess about the only thing missing were bikini models. Great day, guys!

Some videos:

First is a little sneak attack on a horse barn somwhere.

This is the water crossing scene.

Random stuff.

From the weather channel: "Snow likely in the morning...then snow likely or a chance of rain in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 30s. Northeast winds around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent."

B&N Starstrucks is on the NE corner of Randolph Road and 355/Rockville Pike. Actually, in that giant complex it's a little bit closer to Bou Ave, a couple blocks north of the big intersection, right near the Bank of America. Just look for old dudes who are 40 going on 60!

The rain suit should've shown up today, if so and it fits then I should be there.

You virginia guys may want to truck over. That way you don't risk hypothermia going back home. I'm thinking about a creek crossing or two.

I'm planning for this two be only a couple hours unless the weather isn't as bad as they say it will be.

Is that creek crossing serious? Do you guys post group rides on these boards for both sportbikes and dual-sports?

Either way, if it was for sportbikes I wish I was in town and had some warm gloves cause I would take on the challenge. And even if it snows it is not likely to accumulate on the roads. Unfortunately I am OUT cause I'm out of town.

If we have anyone who doesn't want to risk the creek crossing, those who want to can go over, come back, and we'll just double back out of there. I did this crossing last weekend, and it's very deep where the dude is but not nearly as deep on the left of the photo where the creek channel mellows a lot.
