Well it was a good trip even if I did crash my bike.

Here are some pics:

Young gremlin eager to ride his Goldwing through 500 miles of WV country

Somewhere in the springs of Silver Spring, MD. Waiting at my bud's house to take off

Few hours later I done crashed my bike on a straight road by jumping on the front brakes too hard. Wasn't disappointed about the bike damage, just more upset that I crashed since I can get my KNEE DOWNNNNNN...

well I did get it down in my crash too

It was 800PM and we were 100 miles from my house, 40 some from the motel. So patched it up on the side of the road and hit the motel where we found out swingers usually come for...coffee

Woke up the next morning to truck on. Le damage: Bent clip on, sheared rear set (patched), Broken mirror, bent shifter, broken turn signal, and some lost pride. But she still ran like a champ

The squad

A good rear set

Our patch. Literally found some tubing on the side of the road, cut it up and stuck it in there. Proceeded to do another 300 miles

Highlight of the trip was Rt 33 and this beautiful lake at the top of it

Two SEXY playas of the game

Later on my bike started to overheat due to loss of coolant. So I threw some water in there and booked it 100 some miles home on I-81. RIP my back riding the Duc on the highway.

Damage assessment

Broke-eded zippa

Got that palm slideeee action

Although crashing was a low note, the route was beautiful and the twisty portions did not disappoint. This was a taste of what can happen on a longgg trip and I'm glad I stuck to my guns and duked it out.

More importantly, I am EXTREMELY grateful that my leathers did their job and kept me unscathed. Not a single scratch or injury from sliding at 50MPH. I'm about to sell my mesh gear and stick to leathers only.

I'm also grateful to Ducati for not building an utter POS that could have left me stranded after my crash. Thanks Italian engineers!

Damn, sorry to hear about the crash - that sucks! Glad to see you weren't hurt and the bike wasn't too badly bent. A friend of mine binned is Duc similarly like 2 miles from the Crossroads on my first trip to Deal's Gap - rigged it back together and rode another 300 miles that day!

Let me know if you guys plan another ride - I'd definitely be interested. Some of my favorite rides are 1 or 2 day jaunts through WVa!
