Question Western Rides - June 16, 2014, 02:01 AM

After being bikeless for a couple years I have returned! It feels great but I'm saddened by the lack of posts in the "ride" section... This used to be fairly active with at least a few rides posed every weekend. What's the deal?

Either way if anyone is doing a ride in the NW Va area (211/33) or into WV please post or send me a PM...

Thanks!

This was talked about earlier in the year but no one gave a real reason for it. It seems all the Frederick, nova, and WV folks either don't ride anymore or have lost interest in bringing people along. Half the people on this site don't even have bikes anymore so take it for what it's worth.

My interests have shifted a bit. I rarely do "asphalt only" street BYOB type group rides anymore. If I get a wild hair to tear things up a bit I usually go solo.

I am thinking of posting up mixed surface Western VA/WV group ride this coming Saturday though. But it won't be SB friendly.

There's bold riders and old riders, but damn few bold old riders.

Rides are usually done via FB or from already established groups who casually invite friends they know from "IRL" to the rides. I don't see a lot of random twistie rides anymore unless you're in the know.

Most of my rides this year have been last minute due to busy schedule. July the schedule should free up and I'll be able to set up some Saturday rides, fingers crossed.

Awesome Tony. Your WV rides were some of the most enjoyable! I'll keep an eye out.

I ride every weekend. I'm out in Jeffersonton but I'm old slow and loud now. I can still run down most Sport-bikes on my hog though!

My Western Chuck Co routes are the most adored by those who come to a SOMD RUN.

Speaking of western rides, anyone doing Frederick or W. MD tomorrow? Been a few weeks and my Ape is hungry for some Asian and/or German cuisine...

I was out towards frederick today, but just saw this. Judging by your other posts you would be bored at my pace anyways though. Still lots of debris/gravel on the roads too.
