Woodstock Tower Ride Sunday 10/12/08 - October 10, 2008, 04:08 PM

Heading to Woodstock Tower on Sunday, 10/12/08. This ride will mostly be on narrow unlined back roads. The Woodstock Tower is on a gravel road and one side of it is steep with sharp turns and nearly sheer cliffs. The turns are pavement though. You should be comfortable with gravel and heights for this ride.

The scenery is guaranteed to be spectacular. Pace is whatever you feel like, nothing too crazy.

We will ride to Luray then to the tower, over the mountain to Woodstock then maybe up Rt. 11. I know of some quick stops along the way, bring your camera.

Leaving Haymarket Sheetz at 9 am so get there early enough to do what you need to do (coffee, donuts, gas, drop a #2)

Nice. I ride past it every day. It's def doable on any bike.

+1 on excellent views if the air is clear like it is today. You might even catch some hang gliders coming off the west side tomorrow. If I get most of the work on tap for this weekend over with in time I'll try to catch ya'll at the top.

Not sure. It's off of Rt. 11 just South of Woodstock.
