WV - mixed surface ride - Sunday 4/10 - April 7, 2011, 05:22 PM

Sunday: Departing from Sheetz in Woodstock, VA at 9:00am. Route may contain mixed surfaces. About 360-400 miles total. Pace will be fairly mellow but steady except for a few photos I need to take along the way.

Some roads on route I have not traveled so I'm making no promises, but I'll be riding a street bike, and those that know me know I'd never take a street bike where it doesn't belong (heheheheh).

If anyone is up for a full day of riding/exploring be at Sheetz.

If an all day ride through unfamilar terrain is not your thing move along - nothing to see here - no whinning allowed.

Nope. Just an occasional stream.

I don't expect to hit much in the way of water on this route. But like I said, I ain't making promises.

OP...
By "mixed surface" are you basically alluding that this ride is more geared towards motards and the such rather than supersport bikes?

And 400 miles at a calm pace usually comes out to like 7-8 hours of riding. Is that right?

I'll be on my FZ1 but yeah, there may be sections of the ride that would be traditionally considered motard/adventure bike oriented mixed in with paved WV goodness. I can and may tone those sections back... or not, depends on who if anyone wants to come along.

Could be more. It's not a ride to attend if you have somewhere to be at a certain time, and I pack a clear visor. I tend to ignore those funny little white & black signs they post up for trucks and old people, but coming home in one piece is the priority.

In short as I said before: "If an all day ride through unfamilar terrain is not your thing move along - nothing to see here - no whinning allowed."

I ride a mix of roads and it's hard to say what the ride might hold in store....

Man I would live to do this but I'm not comfortable taking my Gixxer off road like that. I come from Florida where they don't even know what motards are cause there are no trails there like here. I'm not a fan of their looks but damn I want one now after seeing some of the rides you guys go on. Ride safe and I hope somebody takes their GoPro.
