Riz,

I plan to ride more this year than last year. Good to see that you are in for this trip.

Okay, so I'm trying to make myself available for this trip considering it would be the first multi-day trip I've done on a bike.

My first (and likely only) concern is fuel, my Z gets about 90-100 miles to a tank, potentially more now that it has taller gearing but I'm not making promises. Would this range be a nuisance to everyone else on the ride? I don't want to be 'that' guy no matter how much fun the trip will be.

You will be really stretching it on that ride. I would say the average distance is 90-100 mph. Depends on the pace youre riding with that 90-100 miles.

You'll likely be fine
My light never came on on my 600 or the 1k...and I was running 12-15k rpm at ALL times on the 600, lol

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. If I make it on the April ride I'll try and get an exact idea on what the bike will do and if I can knock out 100 miles with room to spare then I'll consider joining.

4 gallons at 30mpg () should do it.

The light on my RSV4 would come on around 90-95 miles per tank on Stan & Tony's rides. If you can ride around 2 gears higher like Stan you might surprise yourself...

Lots of low-end on the Z so that might have to be my bag.

I do the same thing simply because im lazy... I could be cranking out most of the techincal fun stuff in 2nd and 3rd but when I do this longer stuff I stay in 3rd and 4th...Mostly because after 8 or 9 hours your left arms starts to go numb from the clutch. I also feel a little false security with lower rpms and gravel.

Dark,

You should be good to go. We stop around 90-100 miles at a time. This ride has a lot more stop's than my all day trips to WV/VA.
