Burke Lake Trail Run - October 18, 2011, 12:16 PM

Planning on heading to burke lake later on for a trail run. I'm planning on running two laps, about 9 miles, if anyone's interested in joining me. Kinda late notice I know, but just throwing it out there. Planning on hitting the trail about 3:45ish.

I'll keep posting them up then, I just signed up for a marathon so my runs will become more frequent with time as I settle into the training schedule.

I just started running again yesterday. Pulling in about 2 miles at about 11min/mile. I normally run 3 miles in a 8:30-9:30min/mile pace but I've been out of running for a while and I've been having lower back pains so I don't wanna kill myself right off the bat. I figured I'd hold you back and I shouldn't be pushing the 9 mile mark yet. Have a good run!

Ah sorry dude, would've been good to run with someone.

Here's my workout summary, ended up going just a leeeeetle bit faster than I planned, but I felt pretty solid throughout once I found my rhythm. I stopped briefly at one lap to walk for a minute in the parking to re-fill my water bottle as well. That seemed to help overall, and give the muscles a short rest.

great pace, rob!

i ran my first for time 5k this past weekend, 22:50. i think i can knock 20 or so seconds off, but that run was hard due to starting 30 minutes after the anticipated start time, so I was real cold and tight.

i haven't really been training for long distances other than 10 miles, was concentrating on the triathlon bike/run transitions. This winter, I am planning on getting up to marathon distance.

I think I am in boston all next week, but when I get back just let me know what your run schedule is, I'll do mid to long runs with you. or send me your schedule and i'll join/train with you.

My marathon is the rock n roll one here in DC on March 17th. The training schedule is 18 weeks, which means the training schedule begins on Monday, November 7th. If you're looking to get up to that level it would be great to have someone to run with. Right now I'm looking at following the schedule below, but it may get tweaked a little after a chat with an ultra-runner friend of mine. But this is my plan as of right now.....

I'm planning on hitting burke lake again tomorrow morning sometime if anyone else has tomorrow off and wants to join me. I guess the pace will be dependent on who wants to run, but I'll wait at all stop signs and lights ....no seriously, we'll just figure out a comfortable pace and take it from there.
