Funeral for Abe "Googs" (AKA BostonSR) - April 14, 2014, 09:19 PM

Well, I guess we have to say something here. We lost Gugsa Abraham Dabela on Saturday morning (4/6) at around 1:30 AM. Gugsa was known as Abe or "GOOGs" to his friends and Gad Gaddy on Facebook.

However, within .net, Abe was a great friend to this community and a valued subject matter expert on legal issues. He was always willing to give his advise free of charge, which is an uncharacteristic trait for any lawyer. He was also a true champion of the Second Amendment. I can't quantify how much I have learned from him, I think we have all profited for having known and interacted with him. He was a loyal friend and an avid rider, we lost a good one... RIP

I saw today that there will be a memorial service Wednesday the 16th. It will be held at the Metropolitan Memorial United Methodist Church at 3401 Nebraska Avenue NW. The visitation starts at 11 and the service at 12. I wanted to share this with .net in the event any of wanted to attend.

Wow, I remember meeting him at a Hooters bike night a few years ago. What a shame, especially considering how it appears he went. I hope he truly rests in peace.

Terrible. I remember Googs from .com
Went on a group ride or two w/him.
Christ, it seems like we lose a known member each year.

RIP.

We did not get along at all on .com

But time marches on...doesn't really matter. Sometimes certain personalities don't always jive.

Either way RIP, hope they figure out what happened. I read the one link...its a little confusing what happened.

A.

In person or at least in high school he was a funny dude, he played ball or at least tried. I remember we all were taking to school by school bus, and this dude had his dad drive him to school everyday in a fresh Benz. He was paying for lots of stuff when we were under 21 let just say. Last time I saw him was 1996, wish I knew he ride cuz I would have catch up with him. (Didn't know nothing about .com yet)
