La Tomatina in SPAIN August 2009 (maybe Italy and Greece too) - August 19, 2008, 02:31 PM

OK, so Tony does his cruises every year, but we've been talking about going to Spain next year instead, for the world's biggest food fight, La Tomatina.

People from all over the world go for the Tomatina, so hotels book FAST. I want to reserve something soon, but first I need an idea of how many to expect. The tomato fight itself is on the last Wednesday of August, which is the 26th in 2009. Other plans for the week (or two) will depend on who wants to go, and how much time they can get off.

It's held in Bunol, which is on the east coast of Spain, right near Valencia. This means it's right near Ibiza, and a shuttle boat away from both Italy and Greece. We can hit at least 2 countries, if not 3.

So far I have the following people interested:
RacerX
Squirrel Head
Nubbs
K-Square
Derilict

I know that I'm forgetting people, so if you're not on this list (or even if you are) post up and let me know your thoughts. This year's festival is happening next week, so hotels will prolly start booking up pretty fast after that.

And I know that it's over a year away, so I won't count you as a definite right away if you post up. I do want to be able to book the hotel in Spain in the next couple of months, and work out some sort of framework far enough in advance that we can actually make this happen without flights, etc selling out.
