I saw Tribe in '96 at the Smokin Grooves show with Cypress Hill. Busta Rhymes came came out for Scenario and Busta'd his ass off the stage! HAHAHAA! I wonder if there is any way to make sure none of my money goes in Dead Prez' hands.

Sharon brought back pics from the show she went to last year out in Cali and it was like a big festival. At night people lit bonfires. A bunch of b-boy circles. Mountains off in the distance. It looked like a really good time. I dont know if Merriweather is going to be able to do the same. You'll probably see a lot of this:

and even more this:

Yao, judging by your post, I'm guessing you've never heard much of Teck's stuff. Rakim would be up there too, the rest are dope in their own way but as far as rawest...Tech.

Justin and I are NOT going. I dont want to ruin my memories of last years event because there is no way in hell a DC show could top what I experienced in Cali. Plus one of the main reasons I went was because the Paid Dues tour tagged on to Rock The Bells tour at some stops and alot of groups that I was dying to see was on that stage which is not happening this go round. Like Justin said DC doesnt know how to act, there is no way in hell 6 bon fires could get lit in the lawn at Merriweather and the police not put riot gear on and not start bashing peoples heads in. No thanks. I'll keep my memories good and I have seen just about everyone on that list already and several times over.

HOWEVER, I will suggest getting the VIP tickets for the lounge considering it is during the dead of summer. The lounge has AC and seats, meet and greet with artists, a DJ constantly spinning, lots of TV showing whats going on the stage, contests, you get free swag like tshirt, backpack (I use mine now when riding), posters, drink tickets, etc.

Make sure to bring LOTS of cash as there was ALOT of vendors when I was there selling shirts, music, stickers, food, etc.

I actually have a "HIP HOP IS NOT DEAD" tshirt on today that I got there but cannot find a pic of. This graf crew had a line of shirts that I picked up a tight womens beater too. I came home with about 5-6 shirts from the show and several CD's. A lot of free promo CD's.

Also got this one but in white:
