So I got hit on the way to work about 7a. NB on Wisconsin going through when a SB Honda turned left onto Cheltanham.

That expensive Aerostich did it's job and so did that Drift. Enough said for now until after the legal stuff is finished but I didn't want to just disappear for months or a year or so.

I can't really post until the legal stuff is done but . . .

I had 4 surgeries in 7 days. Would have been 6 days but they held off for transfusions because I'd lost so much blood. Not sure if I will be able to ride again. Not sure I can ever work as a stagehand again.

Too many unknowns still.

The hospital says I can't go home, I can only be released to a residential physio rehab facility. Does any one know anything about the places around here? I had all the medical my moto insurance and VA law allows but nothing else so I'd be a charity case for now.

Sorry to hear that.

I hope you get good painkillers.

Glad you're still amongst the living. Can't assist with the facility, but if you need anything, just send a PM

I had a situation kinda like this when i was 18, i didnt have any medical coverage apparently because i lost it as soon as i turned 18 which i didnt even know at the time. whatever i was 18. so i had a shit ton of medical bills, the guy who hit me had ran away. i had a few surgeries, and medical bills were pretty high. at the end after about 1.5 years my insurance company and my lawyer came to an agreement for me getting an x amount of money. it was below about 30% of what i owed to the fredericksburg medical center. the total i had from the medical center was reduced just enough so i can barely break even so i could pay the lawyer and medical bills. totally lost my bike it was beyond totaled, frame split, engine was cracked torn apart, wheels were tacos haha

if you have some medical coverage through your motorcycle insurance company thats good but people usually only pay for like some medical coverage to cover enough for deductibles because health insurnace usually covers like 80-90%... do you have any medical coverage? is the driver going to pay for your medical expenses?

Also they released me after a few days because I wasnt trying to rack up more medical bills, so as soon as my surgery was finished and stuff I rolled out and had nurses coming to my house instead for a couple days and asked to just teach me me what i needed to do to take care of myself and stuff. So from their i just had to buy medical supplies

Thanks, Fitz. Should be fine for that kind of thing but if something comes up, will do.

Glad you're among the living. Sounds like it was a bad one. Positive healing vibes coming your way, L.

Good luck with everything. An internet friend of mine's SO was struck and killed almost 2 months ago. Legal stuff hasn't even started yet (they're still trying to figure out the charges). Hopefully you're not left in limbo too long.
