Biker Bash - 8/17/2008 - Image Heavy - bikes & gogo dancers - August 18, 2008, 10:19 PM

Ok, so a few of us met up at the circuit city in Tyson's Corner, the one off of route 7. There is a starbucks there, so we had a coffee as we waited for others. When i got there at 805-810, 8footasian and Talent were there already. We waited till about 845 and then headed off with no new arrivals.

Ride up was pleasant and fairly simple, nothing crazy to report, decent traffic. Other than it slowing down because two cops were checking out some guy walking on 495, no major incidents.

We arrived at the Harley Davidson store in Laurel-Bowie around 930ish. We got there pretty early, which was fine since it put us in the front of the group ride. We all felt a bit outnumbered at this point.

The police out in force, but in a good way.

Nicely done Boss Hoss.

Whitney from DC101 on her ride.

Buckshot & Elliott In the Morning

We think this person may have been handicapped as there was a hand shifter and what looked like a cane holder on the side. Pretty tight though, nice rear wheels.

This was the briefing before we left. Roach and Elliott on stage. Elliott was giving crap to Roach, since Roach had never ridden before. Gave general rules about riding, towing, mechanical failures (at first I was like, what failures, but then i remembered who we were riding with), etc. The route was more of a backroad type of deal. we drove through some agricultural testing area and did a loop. Didn't see anyone bite it or anything, and only saw one mechanical failure. The ride was a bit of a pain depending on who was in front of you (guy in front of me had no clue what he was doing) but pretty good none the less. It was about 30 miles, took about 45 minutes or so. Then we headed to Cancun Cantina and arrived to this.

8footasian looking like a true 8footasian.

Everyone at the cantina.

After walking around, getting something to eat, we decided to head back. Forgot to mention that it was a bit hot, so it felt better being on the bike. After getting some directions, we headed back to the area. Pretty good pace, no incidents, and fun to get back on the way home.

Sorry my stitching skills aren't up to snuff, i just wanted to get something up fast.

Dc101 supposedly has pics up, however whenever i go to the link, i fet the little red X, so hopefully they get that fixed. Elliott said there were probably about 1200 bikes there, and that they raised about 50k. I would say, that at most 200 of those were sportbikes, if that. Lot of harleys and cruisers with the occasional wing and one scooter (that guy was a pain in the rear, cause you didn't know if you should pass him or what).

Cancun Cantina had a photographer of their own:

http://www.ryanphotography.net/photo...2008/index.htm

I was happy when i went to this site, as right on the front page, dead center is yours truly. Funny, how with all those HOG's there, a sportbike gets front billing. Nice.

I'd never been to Cancun Cantina, and must say it is quite large with a lot going on. don't know if the girls are standard, but it was a step above hooters for sure. they also have motorcycle parking only near the beach (yeah, they have a beach with cabanas). Anyway, all in all, it was a good ride for a good cause. I had more pictures, but as you can see, this was already a lot. I'm sure 8footasian will post his, and Talent has already posted his. Sorry there wasn't much more info on the rides, however, they were pretty basic, highway up and back, and the main ride was a leisurely cruise through some nice areas around MD. Cops did a great job with making all cagers pull over to the side, i'm sure they were pissed. Made me laugh when some of the riders ahead of us were waving to them, cause i'm sure they were excited about that.

Hope you enjoyed.
