Colorado and back - the pics - July 12, 2011, 11:35 PM

Little trip to CO and back, 3 days out, 600 miles each day. 3 days back with the last day being a 22 hour 1,127 mile push because I wanted to be home in my own bed. Total trip was 3,751 miles or so.

This is where we stayed, friend's house is on 35 acres on the lake.

We went to Bishop's Castle. Some crazy old guy started building this in 1969. Lots of drama about this place. It's very tall and was scary up top.

From the top

My brother has a cool Jeep so we went off roading

This is the Great sand dunes national park. It's a huge pile of sand. there are people in this pic in the river, near the middle of the pic

Those little black specks on the top and other places are stupid people who walked all the way up there. The sand dunes in CA allow you to ride ATVs and 4x4 vehicles on them, these do not.

Rain in the distance, cant see this on the east coast usually.

This is the house we stayed at. It was really nice with a great layout.

My brother on top of a rock outcropping we climbed

My brother has an Axial RC rock crawler. I was really impressed with this thing. I have some vids I'll upload later.

pornography in nature

Pikes Peak, the road.

The summit of Pike Peak, 14,110 feet.

Funny restaurant along the way, I didn't eat there.

I have always wanted one of these old service stations. I could put all my junk in it and have a guys hang out. None like this around here. This one is in Shelbyville, KS

I camped the first night and this little prick ate my cereal that I packed. Butthead

Autopilot

This bridge was built in 1886. Imagine that, before good machines to help. This was a deep valley and it looked like this bridge was built to just service one land owner. It's not in use anymore but you can walk over it.

Best burger I had. It was at Dani Kay's Cafe in Kinsley Kansas.

A small plane crash caused this fire.

My brother and I went for a little ride on the gravel roads. We recorded him chasing me around the gravel roads. I'll post up later.

Climbing the road to clouds on the way up Pike's Peak

No guard rails on the road up. I took this pic while riding, very close to the edge of certain death.

Nice pics, looks like you had a blast. So was that little box where you stored your camera next to the kill switch?

That's some sick scenery! Your brother lives in a really cool spot. Sometime I think about just getting away. Getting a nice piece of land in the middle of no where with nice scenery. Shoot my guns out back, ride my bike on twisty mountain roads, ride the atv on open land, jet ski and fish by the lake... Then I realize I'm dreaming again...
