Friday call in sick and ride summary... - August 15, 2008, 04:54 PM

All in all a pretty good day.

Lots of new faces and the "other" RC-51 in Virginia showed up!

Widow led the first half until we got to Point of Rocks, where Vega took over.

We saw some rain the first half of the day but nothing major, just enough to wet the roads so we had to back off just a little (but not too much!).

It turned out to be a long ride, with no formal lunch break, so right now I'm tired, hungry and CRANKY!

Oh, yeah...we had two minor get-offs today, too. Just a missing mirror, some scuffed fairings and one unhappy turn signal. Everyone involved was okay but I'm thinking that the wounded pinky finger might just need a band-aid.

Thanks again Nick and Jeff, great job leading as usual.

Here is a link to a few pics I took.

Except for the ass who swerved in front of me to keep me from passing him on part of the Fredrick loop and the nutjob this morning brake checking us (who coincidentally lost his mirror ), the ride was great! The weather wasn't too bad and the roads were for the most part clear. Great group to ride with! Thanks to widow and vega for leading.

Vega---Your garage is pretty much my dream garage. Fast bikes...fast car...oh my my. Thanks for leading.

prick was trying to kill one of the group by keeping him trapped in the on coming lane causing him to amlost get hit by a car... jackass!!! As for the other guy I think it was just bad driving. I don't thing he checked his mirrors before pulling out on widowmaker.

Yeah but when the back three (me being one of them) pulled behind him getting ready to pass, he brake checked then when i finally did pass him, he was cussing at us from his window. F'n biatches!

When I tried to pass the F350 (legally mind you--dotted lines and all) he swerved in the passing lane and I had to get over and twist the throttle all the way to get around him quickly. There are alot of crappy people out there.

Not the first time something like that has happened... I've had people do that to me a lot near the end of last season. This year I haven't had anyone brake check me or swerve on me, but the season is still young

I kicked a truck's door once while i was trying to pass. I had a dotted yellow, he was going about five over the speed limit approaching a nice little set of sweepers I wanted to catch obstruction free. So I indicate my intent to pass and begin to throttle past him, he waits till I get next to him to cut over on me hard. My tires were riding the white line in the oncoming lane to avoid him, so I gave him a firm boot to his door. He got furious but pulled back, guess he didn't want to get more damage to his truck. I was about to kick it again All I have to say about it is f**k penn state drivers!
