Got pulled over and never made it to "the spot" - June 13, 2008, 10:20 AM

so last night i met up with 5 others and we were riding up to "the spot." we were headed north on route 28. there was road work going on and 2 lanes were blocked. traffic was backed up pretty bad so we started rolling down the shoulder really slow (dumb idea). as we merge back into the lane a cop spots us and gets out of his car (traffic wasnt moving). he pulled us all aside 1 by 1 near the air and space museum exit. we ended up spending over an hour sittin on the ledge on 28 but we were lucky enough to get away with warnings. woo hoo!!! so, we never made it to the spot and just rode back home instead we saw other sport bikes pass by, probably on their way to the spot.

OVER? did you say "Over"? Nothing is over until we decide its over, was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell No!!!

Someone else got nabbed last night. As we were leaving (around 10pm?) two cars had a bike stopped off one of the side streets about a block down (heading back towards the toll road off Elden)

Yeah, it's a No No! It's good that everyone is safe too. Reason is people gets pissed off when they see bikes riding on the shoulder. I've actually seen the same situation where the car weaved into to shoulder right in front of the bike almost putting the bike against the road barrier.

ALL MY HEROES ARE RUSSIAN...GO CAPS!

Well you see, Norm, itís like thisÖA herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers.-Cliff Claven

Ya'll took a chance, got noticed, stood by to take your medicine ad got let go with a warning. Good JOB!

Everytime I've been pulled over with a group of bikes (three times) and all the bikes stopped we have only gotten warnings. Beats the heck out of the alternative IMHO.

Funny thing is that when riding alone my odds of getting handed a ticket versus a warning are much worse. I think cops get so surprised when an entire group of bikes complies and no one runs they feel more inclined to give the whole group a break.
