Mini Ride Report- Farmville, VA

Compared to dubplaya's ride this is a tri-cycle ride report

Nonetheless....

Justin and I rode down to see my Grandmother on Saturday. Started out with slab...we took 95S to 3 to 15 down. It was WINDY as FUCK, that was the sucky part but once we got to 15 it mellowed out a bit. 15 is a nice chill route with some pretty scenery. We passed ALOT of cars. Stopped the Sheets in Orange, man there was alot of nice custom old school cars. Apparently they do a car meet up on Saturdays down there, we are def going back to actually walk around and check it. The ride down was mainly lets get there, not alot of sight seeing but the ride was fun as hell.

Breakfast stop at IHop and cig break...note the damn wind!

Sunday, after being loaded down with Grandma's pound cake and chocolate chip cookies we headed back. On the way back we opened the bikes up a bit more and stopped when we wanted. We stopped at this bridge in Fluvanna, it was beautiful, it looked sooo inviting. Watched some people in canoes fight the rapids

We also stopped at the Old Stone Jail in Fluvanna and met the sweetest little old lady that really wanted to take us on the tour (I think she was bored) but we didnt have enough time as it was getting late and we wanted to try to be back before sun down. We are def going back, it looked pretty cool and she was full of historical knowledge which was pretty interesting.

We stopped in Palmyra for some lunch at this quaint deli called Momma's, I had the best ruben I have ever eaten....soooo good. Justin had an interesting conversation with some woman that lives up here

We stopped and got gas, I dont even remember where and quite frankly this picture is the main reason I am wasting your time with this weak report. I was rolling when I read this sign.

Jr.'s been put on blast

We got to my place just before sunset and it was COLD, got to get conditioned to this crap now  We made it home, safe and sound 300+ miles later :) It was nice short get away on our bikes...just us and the bikes. I really enjoyed myself. Thanks again Justin for coming with me :kiss2:

The End.

Yeah the whole ride to 15 was the suck because of all the damn wind, but once on 15 it was nice. There wasnt a terrible amount of traffic so we were able to keep a pretty good pace. Sharon pretty muched summed the ride up. Not a lot of action, but a lot of nice scenery. There was so much f*cking sunday traffic coming home we couldnt really do much on the back roads except for a few stretches. Once on 95 though I think we had both had enough and just opened it up to get home. Next time im bringing a bigger bag with me though. A bigger bag means I can bring more of sharon's grandma's pound cake home!

Oh yeah, and Jr. better pay up!

Sounds like fun...

Good to get away without worrying about hauling ass once in a while.

JTG40cal September 17, 2007 03:23 PM

OH YEAH! And this f*cking lady in the little deli we ate at! Holy sh*t I wanted to slash her tires. So Sharon is outside and im inside waiting for our food (thanks again for lunch babe) and this lady sitting at the counter turns around...she is one of those people that sits and eats by herself while reading a book...and starts commenting about our bikes. She is VERY friendly and we talk about motorcycles and the weather and then she asks where we were from. I tell her northern VA/Fairfax area. She says, "oh what part of Fairfax?" Turns out she lives near Robinson High School. Small world I thought and we kept on shooting the shit. Well then she tells me that she used to work at the courthouse. I said, "Oh really? The one in Fairfax?" Here comes the sucker punch...she replies..."That's right, the one off of Main street. You are probably familiar with some of the deputies up there." - WTF!? Why would I be familiar with the deputies working at the Courthouse? OH I get it! I ride a motorcycle so I must be in court a lot. Ohhhhhh, she was good. She slid that in there so well that it didnt even hit me until I was walking out with my food. Im glad you enjoyed your Reuben babe. We're never eating there again.

Good read Boom 40cal. There are a lot of tasty roads down that way. Darkdaddy can tell you about some of them. As for car shows go to the one on 28 south of manassas. Lots of bad ass hot rods on sat nights

I did notice ALOT of side roads that looked VERY PROMISING. Next time I am making sure there is ample time to really explore.

And I am eating at that spot again...soooooo good.

The one that stands out the most was Bremo or Brembo Bluff Rd., it was right by the bridge stopped at...every heard of it? Once off the bridge you go up hill and turn on the road but before we got to the turn I noticed a crazy winding road along the mountain....I dunno. I def want to check it out.
