Mother Nature and her fickle ass storms... - July 16, 2007, 04:10 PM

So, I'm chilling at my boy's house in Wheaton Md yesterday, knowing that I need to get on the saddle and head back to Springfield before dark. I had a tinted visor and didn't bring a clear one with me.

I stayed a little longer than i'd hoped to because someone ordered up a bunch of grub at 7pm, and I'm not one to turn down food. Finally, at 8pm I head up Georgia Ave towards 495. I'm thinking I've got 30 minutes to knock down a 40min ride or else I'll be riding in the dark with a very dark visor.

Uhh...nah...i got on 495 and the traffic moved 10mph for about 3 miles due to an accident. So as i got past this mess...it became quite dark and the sky looked ominous. Needless to say....by the time i rolled over the Cabin John Bridge, there was wind, lightning, rain and darkness. GOODTIMES!!

I finally bailed (way too wet) at Braddock Rd and took back roads down to Newington Forest, where i live.

In summary....riding with tinted visors at night sucks. Tinted visors at night, on 495 in the rain, wind and lightning...REALLY SUCKS!!
