Mountain Run Ski Area - March 4, 2009, 04:00 PM

Great day for a ride. Advrider Virginia tag was placed here, right down the road! Gear up and go. Temp. when I left was a brisk 24 degrees in bright sunshine. I was surprised to see the snow accumulation the further south I went. The roads were OK for the most part. Moreland Gap had a few ice patches on the paved section but the dirt was fine.

Here is the Tag Photo

After grabbing this I decided to head west of 81 and north through the valley. Rode through Quicksburg, Columbia Furnace, north on 623 to Zepp rd. Zepp Rd is not good for motorcycling yet, but the view from the top was worth it.

Continued northwest on Zepp up to Star Tannery when I decided to head over to Capon Springs, WV.

When I show up to a .Net group ride those who don't know me always ask why I have SUV tires on my bike, which is usaully followed by a comment about my top case. This is why I love Dunlop D616's. Goggle Zepp road.

From Zepp to Capon Springs.........the fun way.

On from Capon Springs to set the new tag. A few more back roads. Lots of sliding through gravel and one more dirt road.

I am often ask why I leave my top case on. Well, How many times do you finish a ride and realize you have no beer at home or need to pick up something for dinner? Its easier to grab on the way rather go home and climb in the cage.

Yep, split chicken breast on sale for $.99/#. Picked up 11#, a roast for tonight and a whole chicken cause it was on sale too.

Castle - this place is like 95 or so miles away depending on directness of route.. I think it would make for a good spring ride

I was actually looking at doing a trip down that way...nice long day ride. That ride we did last year out to WV was going to head down that direction, but I changed my mind because of the weather and change in time limit I had to ride that day.

No, but I was thirsty. If you look back in the previous pics you can see pipes that run from the spring I don't remeber seeing any water flowing out of the building.
