An open thank you to RRonin and Sara - July 24, 2011, 02:57 PM

I tried to send this as a personal message, but couldn't because I don't have 5 posts yet:

Hey, this is Steve, the guy who was riding the FZ1 with you all in June when we all went down in WV.

Thank you so much for calling me when I was in the hospital and communicating information to my family in my time of need. I vaguely remember how it all went down, but honestly I remember us doing some amazing riding that day. I hope you did not sustain bad wounds. The dealer in Romney told me neither of your bikes made it. I'm still healing from my wounds at home, but am definitely looking at getting back into riding. I have definitely learned from this experience and am thankful to be alive. I'm probably gonna tone it down a bit and go for a V-Strom with some hard bags. I'll never give those mountain roads up, but like I said, just might thottle back a bit (not too much!) LOL.

I just hope you two are alright, and want to again thank you (and please relay this to the others who I don't know how to contact) for being such fun riding partners and truly caring people.

I'd love to hear from you all.

Best,

Steve

Hey Steve, it's really good to hear from you! Glad you're doing better and hope you get back on the bike soon.

I ended up using the experience to upgrade to a BMW S1000rr, absolutely love this bike. Sara's bike is fine, she actually did a track day on it and did very well.

We did do the Deals Gap trip and it was awesome!

Let me know when you are ready to hit the road again.

Mos def. At the end of the day, it was 3 fractured vertebrae, 1 more in the neck, 4 ribs, and my left shoulder blade. Thank God, not a scratch on me, no surgery, and no internal bleeding. I'm in a neck brace for another few weeks and then I start with the physical therapy. I may not be back online until next riding season. But I will definitely keep you posted.

RRonin is good people.

I went on some of his rides WAY back in the day, and it really helped my entrance into the hobby and encouraged me.

Hey Steve, great to hear you are recovering and that surgery wasn't needed! Really wish things would have happened differently and you could have joined us for Deals, but what's most important is that you came out alive, as you said maybe next year Deals Gap will be in the cards for you! You should come out to a bike night sometime!

I have ridden with many many people on this board and others not on the board. By far some of the best riding I have ever done has been behind Ronin and that whole group up there in Maryland.

Glad to hear you are recovering well.

I don't always ride sportbikes but when I do, I prefer it be with RRonin and Sara.
