Police Chase in Funville, MD - July 21, 2007, 03:33 PM

Rode today in Funville, Maryland, and wouldn't you know it, me my buddies witnessed a police chase. At least three idiots in a topless Jeep CJ7 were leading Frederick County Police on a chase through the twisties at a blazing...oh, say 50 mph. Damnedest thing I've seen in a long time. We should have followed to see the wipeout.

Got ur PM John - I was on RT80 coming back from my ride and a MSP passed me doing about 100 - guess he was heading to the chase.

...funny, I thought he was coming for me.

We saw this chase around 12:45 p.m. or so. No way the po po would be after you, considering you were doing the speed limit I'm sure.

The road we last saw them on was much better handled by the cruiser than the friggin' jeep. I'm guessing the statie was probably waiting up at the other end at Rt 80 too. No way off before then. Like I said, they weren't exactly tearing up the pavement, just not stopping. It was comical. None of us could believe it--kinda like watching 20 clowns climb out of a beetle.

This is why you DON'T run from the police (especially not when you're driving a bright yellow Jeep)!

Ah SH*T, I KNEW I should have turned to follow! Figured there was no way they'd keep it together on Prices. But I'm surprised he made it down Reichs Ford w/o crashing. Oh well, sorry I made us miss the show. Great find, man!

Bright Yellow jeep. Too damn funny!! Did they end up wrecking or just scattering when they finally stopped.

Can't choose between the R1 and the 10R so I am keeping both but settled with an 1198S when I came home

Keep it up!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the end of the chase. We started to turn around so we could follow the chase, but then we saw that slower moving traffic would have ended up in our way so we decided not to follow after all. Not much detail in the news article other than, "The driver lost control of his vehicle and it spun and crashed". I would have liked to have known what ended up with the passengers...whether they got injured or not.
