Ridin in the rain can be fun but these idiots make it not so fun.

Fuck that. Cage 100%. for all the things people say about the drivers in Northern Virginia. I'm not handling my life over to some fucking idiot on 495 in the rain. Put my ass in a cage with four wheels and let me get to work safely home safely and not die due to poor choices on my part. Risk mitigation goes a long way.

that however is just my opinion. And my skill sets are probably not the same as others thinking it no big deal.

Not riding much for over a year has me soft. I opened the garage to pouring rain this morning and was happy to not be riding out into it. And that's not even considering all the inconsiderate drivers who want to kill us. Props to you for roughing it. Good heads up call on the intersection.

I like riding in the rain, but I'm not sure I'd do it if i had to deal with the highways. Out here in the middle of nowhere, it's awesome.

I rode today, yesterday - raining pretty hard. I don't really care about the rain - to me its no big deal just like summer in Seattle, however the idiots in their cars are another story. I keep my distance a bit more because drivers are more likely to go full throttle retard when it rains than when its dry. The dousche in his F250 violating HOV rules because he won't get tagged on a rainy day jamming himself infront of me so he can be all of what 11 seconds faster to work....so typical of the dick heads on the road...White 2010+ F250 VA XXH-5592

I do highway so I just cant see myself biking to work. Too much going on to fee "safe". On perfect days I have but he nervous pucker is still there. Just too many people not paying attention with too many idiot drivers with too many lanes. I feel the odds arent in my favor, X 100 in the rain. 495 is full of nuts.

Highway riding in the rain is a manageable risk. I'm still around after year round commuting for ~20 years. Highways are actually 'safer'/easier to manage than surface streets with their many intersections.

Wow man, bad day? Seems typical for around here though. Be careful.

Agreed with this, everyone is mostly going the same direction.

Didn't ride yesterday but I did today. Should've mounted some rains. CBR was spinning the rear in straight line at less than 25% throttle on the FFX Co roads. Had a stream crossing on the way home. Wasn't expecting it to be that high since it really hasn't been raining hard.

Yea thought about rain tires but these Dunlop road smarts are really freaking good in the rain.
