Sunday Morning NoVA ride.... - July 27, 2008, 12:27 PM

This morning Tornado675 and I hit the side roads of NW Va... Was a smooth nice ride, good weather, not many retarted cage dirvers, until....

We were heading down a straight road just outside of Marshal (not sure the name of the road)... We are just cruise at a moderate pace (as we were all morning) when all the sudden there are two state LEOs behind us, with their lights on.

We pull over and they checked out our bikes, inspection, registration and "m" endorsments. After all this they explain that they had been pacing us at 65mph for a mile (45mph zone). We apoligize and explain we were just cruising around and actually on our way home at that point. The officers run our lisences and out of extreme supprise just let us go with a WARNING! and sent us on our way.

So, we got lucky and got lucky in VA for a change and all in all had a pretty decent 2.5 hour ride.

Hope the luck was with everyone else today too...

On back roads out in the stix cops tend to be a bit more lenient as long as the speeds are not insane. Glad you got some decent LEO's.

On a side note: I've been running I-64 west of Charlottsville for the last week fairly regularly and the enfocrement down there is NUTS! In the 30 some mile section between 81 and Charlottsville I've seen 5 or more State cops running radar every time I've been through there and over half of them have had someone pulled over. There are temporary signs up all over the place saying "Obey Speed Limit Signs", and they ain't kidding!

Yeah, too bad some of the money we "donate" to them by speeding doesn't go twords something to prevent us from speeding on the street.. Like another track

Yeah, who do they think they are!? Damn Cops doing their job...

I dont get it with all the cop haters on here. Its like they are damned if they do, damned if they dont. The LEOs gave Jaxx and Tornado a warning. They give tickets and its f*ck the police. They give warnings and its still f*ck the police.

I'm not saying "F the police" and I understand there are times I should be pulled over. In my opinion, going 65 on a back road with no one around is my porogitve. Not like I would kill anyone else. Now, if I was on 29 lane splitting and cutting people off speeding... Fo sho give me a ticket and I wont even bitch abou it.

Anyways, today was a mighty fine day to do some riding.

I know you didnt say F the police. That was a little exaggerated on my part. My bad. Not trying to start an argument.

Tatty, I hear you dude. I read into it the wrong way.

Jaxxx, I know the feeling. I got stopped riding down 95 around 12am a few weeks ago. First by one state trooper and then a 2nd pulled up. They ran my info and then started grilling me about my bike. He noticed my exhaust and asked if it was an aftermarket. I told him it was and then he asked me what side it was supposed to be on. HUH!? He asked again, "Is it supposed to be on the left or the right side of the bike?" All I could tell him is that the 06 RRs come with an undertail exhaust from the factory. HAHAHAHA! Everything out of my mouth was yes sir/no sir...when all was said and done he let me move on with a suggestion to remount my fender eliminator kit because my plate MAY be hard to read for some officers.
