Super-Awesome ride aftermath - August 21, 2012, 05:58 PM

Awesome ride, peeps!
It was dry until we hit the Griffin and we were met up by the man that is followed by a green monster on the Radar. After a pint of Guinness and the baddest burger in the land, we collectively decided to push up to 211 with the idea that we're gonna take it easy. The European guys showed us how to ride in the rain and took the lead. On the West end of 211, everyone pretty much went their own ways. The Italian on the FZ1 (Leoallofilla) and I decided to hit Skyline north. Crawling with cops, we decided to take it easy but the view was amazing. Topped it off with a back-road ride back to Fast Eddie's centreville and a few brew-has. Good times had by all. About 190 mile ride the whole day!

Agreed! If I had waterproof gear (and no hole in my helmet lol) I would have stayed longer. Glad you guys had a good rest-of-the-ride.

Nice pictures, great view!

I am very suprised you went to Skyline drive. When is that road not crawling with cops? It's such a wonderful road that has be completely ruined by over-the-top police speed enforcement, heavy super slow traffic, and the very large collection of complete 'tards in a 4 wheeled hampster cage.

And don't forget you pay $10 to get on it...

How awesome would it be if they dedicated a day by closing it down and making it a no speed limit, one direction road? It would be the American Nurburgring...

oh how nice it would be to have an american version of the nurburgring. I think it would be just like skyline drive is on a weekend fall morning on a sunny, clear day: One car or suv driving about 17 mph and not a care in the world for the 4 mile backup they are causing.

If you keep it under 50, the cops don't mess with you too much. We passed one doing just under 50 and he didn't even give us a second look. The traffic was not so bad considering we were not hauling ass. The weather was a contributing factor to less traffic and slower speeds for us. It gave us an opportunity to slow down a bit and enjoy the scenery.

I had 8 messages from my wife and I was trying to avoid WW3 upon returning home, but my coverage was going from full reception to zero all the time, look at my perplexed expression in the two pics, LOL.

We sat down on that ledge and chatted it out for 30 mins and did stop for a whule at the pub later, Jason was a pleasure to hang out with and a cool dude. also totally hooked us up @ the pub: 9 beers where 10 dollars!!! woot!

And everyone's trying to check the weather, but just by looking at the pics we definitely look anti-social LOL.
