Two day WV motorcycle trip 17-18 - May 18, 2008, 07:49 PM

Our over the night WV trip started off well. I got up at 4:45 AM to get ready for this great ride, ie. shower, Load the route's in my Zumo, check the bike over, and make wake up calls to Sean, Chris, Rob. We start the ride at my house with Sean, Mike. Then we met up with Jeff, Chris, and Kevin who live in MD. The meet up spot for the second group of guy's was I 495 just south of Brank AVE, at 6:15 AM. We got back on the road to head to the start of this ride at Front Royal, VA off I66/340/522, at 7:30. There we met up with Wes, Rob, Nani, and Andress. We all Gased up and we went down the hill to Mc Donalds and by the time we all ate, we went to start the ride, but we had a promblem with Jeff's bike (VFR-800). His battery was lecking everywhere. He went to start his bike with no joy. Kevin, and Jeff started calling around to find a new battery. We called Walmart, Napa, and AutoZone with no joy. There was a Lady from Front Royal telling us where to find a replacement battery, that was around 8:45am and at this time we should have gotten on the road at 8:00. Well Kevin, Wes, Mike, and I went to find a battary for the VFR 800. After going two places, we finaly found a battary that worked. So we headed back to McDonalds where the others were at. We got the Battary installed and the VFR 800 started right up. Off we go at 9:50 AM.. Finaly on the road to start the trip.

Our first stop was in Baker WV. We all gas up... And everyboby had big smiles on their faces from the roads we just hit.. I was talking to chris on how he felt, and we were talking about his 06 R1 and his Supision... Well we got out some tools and started dailing his suspension, and then Andress's ask me to look at his bike too... Another 06 R1, so I did his too, and then I looked at Wes's bike an 07 R1, and did his as well. After suspension tuning and talking with guys, I gave them a quick run down on the next roads we were going to hit. Then we were off.

Our second stop was Brandywine WV, We all gas up, and again all the guy's had smile on their faces and we were talking about the roads again. Chris, Wes, and Andress said their motorcycle's felt so much better after I dailed ther suspensions, and I told them I was glad to help. I got my camara out and started to take some pic's

Here they are

Again I gave them a quick run down on the next roads we were going to hit. Then we were off again.

Our third stop was a look over in VA, and again all the guy's had smile on their faces and we were talking about the roads again. I got my camara out and started to take some pic's

Here they are

Again, a quick run down on the next roads we were going to hit. Then we were off to lunck for our next spot.

Our forth stop was lunch in Montery,VA and again all the guy's had smile on their faces and we were talking about the roads again. I got my camara out and started to take some pic's.

At lucnh we all started talking about the weather, and the chance of rain for Sundy being 60%,70%. So I called my wife to see how the weather was for Sunday and she comfirm that 60% of rain pretty much all day Sunday. I talked to the guys again and we all deicide to just to do an all day ride... I told them I'll plan another over night trip in June or July. So after talking, we all gas up and I planed a new route for a long day ride. Some of the guys had to leave early from the ride, So the rest of us pushed on and hit some more back roads, which were great.

Here are some more pic's of the last leg of our trip

I want to send a big thanks to all who came out on this ride, I had a great time with all of you and I'm looking forward to getting out there again with you guys.

BTW

My face is sore after smile so much.

Stan

Looks like a good times, Stan! I wish I could have made it but I was stuck down here in Norfolk far far away from decent riding. I'm looking forward to the Deals Gap trip.

Great bikes, great roads, great pace, great people, great ride... ...whole lotta greats.

Thanks Stan55 for putting this together. Looking forward to hitting the happy asphalt trails again soon. Hopefully no psycho drivers will attenpt to take out any of our riders next time! Closer than you thought, Nani! They had you pegged as a hood ornament!
