Want to know what sucks? - June 25, 2007, 09:10 AM

I'll tell you what sucks. Living in Leesburg with a sportbike for almost 7 years and then AFTER I sell the damn thing and retire from riding, I stumble on two roads in my truck that I never knew were there. Two great roads just made for sportbikes.

I went on those roads both Saturday and Sunday, driving them back and forth several times, parked on the pull offs, waited,.....waited,....waited. NOTHING! The weather was amazing. No cars, no cops, no farm trucks and worse....no bikes. I spent about 5 hours looking for riders on them, but nothing.

I never took any group rides on these two roads in 7 years. Never heard anything about them. But I will tell you this: Wheelie, wheelie, wheelie, turn hard, straight as hell, turn harder, keep turning, switch back, wheelie.....repeat as needed. Total round trip in a cage is 45 minutes or more and they connect to other more well known roads.

Yeah, that sucks.

If your feeling generous...

Funny my experience looking for other good roads this weekend went the exact oposite. Found the road after a while (saw it on maps) The pavement is red, with body sized tar patches, then standard black, with downed trees alternating with gravel at every apex, deer that pace you on the road about two feet away, and then just when your getting accustom to the conditions, a tight blind up hill left where just after the peak the road switches to gravel. Its always fun sliding both tires trying to stop before the ditches on the side of a road.

FYI although Harris Hollow looks good on a map, its not worth it. Unless you have a tard, might be kinda fun then.

Why'd you retire? Kids? I tried that, even moved to China to help, nope, now i got it even worse and will be getting a motorcylce with a side car within a few months Yup, I got it bad too!!!!!!

Can't choose between the R1 and the 10R so I am keeping both but settled with an 1198S when I came home

Keep it up!!!!!!!
