Computer dorks... do I need to replace my battery? - December 13, 2011, 04:48 PM

Like the title says.
My 3-4 year old Dell keeps prompting me to replace the battery.
I though it was full shit, but it doesn't hold a charge for very long when unplugged. So...?

Should I just get a cheapy from amazon?

Leave it plugged in. Laptop? Or buy another battery.

Personally, the lifespan of most hardware is not much longer than the battery lifespan. Might be time to upgrade that windoze machine.

a cheap one would be the only option imho normally oem is half the cost of a cheap new laptop. unless it was top of the line and would best a new cheap laptop just do the Amazon battery

Dude, get a new battery.

They are usually only good for a couple years anyway. Count your blessings it lasted 4 or 5 years. Yes, your laptop should out live your battery 3 and 4 times over. The laptop hardware is not going bad, and it is not on the verge of dying just because the battery won't hold a charge.

OVER? did you say "Over"? Nothing is over until we decide its over, was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell No!!!
