Local hydarulic hose shop? - March 24, 2010, 12:30 PM

Here's the deal: had to replace leaky oil line on the Buell. Go to replace it and I've gotten quotes between $80-$130 for 1 line. Someone on the buell forum suggested having a local hydraulic hose shop make another based on the one I yanked (clone it and fittings basically) for a lot cheaper than the prices. Anyone got any recommended local shops? Closest one that can make one I've found is East Bmore and I won't have much time to get up there.

Thanks

Yeah, another Buell guy did the same thing. Found a shop, have to drop off the line in Frederick, wait for it to get to Bmore then they give me an estimate. Trying to find someone closer that can recreate the line. Steel braided with the swingarm/block connectors.

Thats a strange shaped fitting. You might have a problem finding that one.

Like Nubbs said, going to be tough finding that fitting.
I looked through my aircraft stuff and I have nothing like it.

I'd get the OEM one.
You'll spend more in time and aggravation trying to get a match made.

Remember, oil leaking in front of your rear tire is never a good thing.

70 and 32 is a place that makes hydraulic lines for heavy equipment and will do it while you wait. Might be worth checking out.

Sorry Bobby, no it's not the name but as you're going east on 70 you can see the place on the left right as you exit onto 32.
there is a huge sign that says lines made while you wait.
I will try to remember to swing by this afternoon and get a number.
I need 2 lines made for my truck that go to my trans that I keep meaning to go by there anyway!
